Real happy for RBA. He’s had such a tough run, lost his mother less than two years ago and lost his father during the Davis Cup a few months ago. Up to his equal career high now.
If I were his wife I would be concerned if he kept on winning.

Time for the main event now.

ATP cup be like:

Lajovic too defensive. It was clear that he had to redline most of time and come forward often. Instead he's camping 5 meters behind the baseline.

Yup. I’ll be cheering for Djokovic over Nadal but my god if this crowd keeps up I’ll have to switch. Im glad Bautista Agut is sticking it to them cause Jesus Christ it’s awful!!

They will be twice as bad when the Nadal v Jokovitch match is on. If it gets tight, they'll do it during Nadal's service motion, like they did to Anderson during both tiebreaks.

ATP Website is not accurate at all. Players just list their own heights. They're not officially measured by the ATP.
I've seen Nadal live at close quarters several times in AbuDhabi and I would say 6"1 is pretty accurate. I've also seen him and Federer side by side and they are both the same height as shown on the ATP website.

Some people said Nadal is under 6 feet. About 5'11 1/2

Now that will be an anticlimactic end to the cup.

Why isn't Spain's best player on the court in a decider ?

Exactly, isn't Nadal one of the best volleyers in the game? This is the final match, Novak is going for it, why not him? After all the work he has put into taking them to this point.

Maybe he is just exhausted as he had to play for three consecutive days and had some grueling matches, so doesn't wanna ruin his team's chances to lift the trophy. Don't think that a player like Nadal is scared of a defeat, etc.

Kudos to Novak tough, he had marathons with Medvedev and Shapovalov and is still playing.

Lopez is a good doubles player though. Evidently Nadal needs rest, he's done enough. It's not a given he'd have performed better than Lopez, really.

I wouldn't think Nadal is scared of defeat, I was defending him yesterday against a few posters who said he shouldn't have even played Djokovic today. I mean, if you can face him in singles, then why not double, where you actually are the better player because of the net skills. He is the best at the net. But, maybe he is just that tired. have to think though, he looked ready for a third set out there against Djokovic, in which he would do a lot more running, he wouldn't do near as much in the doubles final.

You are probably right. Just a shame though that after all the effort he put in these past few days, he won't be there for the final bit. Kind of deserved of it. Djokovic has had some serious battles out there also.

Yeah well I guess today's defeat tired him out (mentally) additionally, so he doesn't feel well and ready to fight. But, who knows?

Lopez is a better doubles player than Nadal. Then again, they are both better than PCB .. and Granollers is better than all of them.

Anticlimax is having a bunch of baselining gumbies * deciding a huge event in a doubles match :-D

* Nadal and Troicki aren't THAT bad.

I feel mentally Nadal isn't ready for another Djoker clash. Also after so many matches Nadal is worn out. Nadal played bad in the last doubles match. Risking an injury before AO isn't worth it either. Lopez is a good doubles player. So far my prediction for today's matches was good, I only need Spain to win the doubles to complete it.
