It wasn't a great volley. Maybe not even good. But it didn't need to be. Medvedev stands so far back to return serve. Even if you volley within the service line - you will win the point.

@Hitman As you see, I was right about Nadal's serve. It looked good when he faced bad returners. Medvedev isn't troubled at all by his serve.

Thiem played really well overall. Didn’t play the big points as well, but still really convincing overall.

We'll have to agree to disagree. It's a matter of taste after all. I think Nadal looks great at RG and here.
That was an especially good look for Federer.
I feel Nadal is more consistent with how good he looks.

That was one of the best matches I've ever seen him play and I don't say that lightly. What a turn around from him on hardocurt earlier in his career. Often he was blasting 102 mph forehands and 95 mph backhands.
