This just in from AB...

Nadal to remain unbeaten when healthy.

Right after his loss to Medvedev, TTW orthopedic specialists have uncovered yet another life threatening injury on the Peak Rusty Bull, further evidencing the player from Manacor as the only atp professional who never lost while healthy.

Ye, 50% of matches won. Improvement indoors for the ******.
All matches were close and he only lost to the eventual finalists. Also he's 34. It's a realistically good performance no matter how you look at it.

of course i don't expect the average ttw'er to acknowledge that, HURR DURR FINNISH CLAY SKEWED CHOKER MUG am i doing it rite guys?

I am puzzled about Nadal's tactics. A slice here and there and S&V is ok, but making them a method will take you nowhere. I am not sure why insisting with something that is not working in the decider set. Then the S&V at the end, but that appears to be because of tiredness.

I dont think this was a good tournament for Nadal. Had chances in the two defeats and botched them like a good old pal Federer. He is done at WTF, dont see him winning it in the future. This was a golden chance and he wasted it

I want Dimitrov/Zverev/Tsitsipas to win it each year, because that ruins its credibility.
Whereas if Nadal wins the WTF then it suddenly has credibility and we have to hear people say "Djokovic won the WTF 5 times and Federer won it 5 times, while Nadal only won it once" (or whatever the number of times they've won it).
The fact Nadal hasn't won the WTF, hurts the WTF.
Amen to that.

I'm a bit surprised by all the misreads ITT. Nadal did pick up a set, technically, but it was a bit of a steal and most of it was on Med's racquet. No disrespect to Nadal, but his movement and FH just aren't the weapons they used to be.

Med dominated most of the match and it looked as though Med would win as soon as he engaged the mental clutch. Nadal had a few decisive-looking points but Med was largely untroubled on serve and had plenty of chances on Nadal's serve.

Med has a little in common with Djokovic in terms of their runs of points. They can go on very hot runs of points and games before losing concentration and letting opponents back into it. It went away from Med halfway through the 1st, then a bit later again in the 2nd. It made Nadal look much more competitive than he really was.

And how absolutely perfect was that shanked FH lob from Med in the 2nd set TB? Total heartbreaker.

99% of all male tennis players in the Open era were retired at age 34. So yes, it’s ancient by tennis standards. There’s no disputing it.

Well yes that USED to be the case. In this day and age 34 is still pretty young. I see what you are saying though. It’s just not the way it used to be

Nadal has a negative h2h against top-10 players on Hardcourt.

Clay brat vulture those cheap USO titles with rigged draws against Boatovic and Australian via a Backerer choke

Really? Who is playing great at 34 other than Nadal currently?

And why did Berdych retire at 34 if it's not that old?

Not the weapons they used to be? Nadal's foot-speed is worse than ever, and he beat Djokovic 60 62 75 at Roland Garros because his strokes are better than ever.
And Nadal beat Tsitsipas at 2019 and 2020 ATP World Tour Finals!
Nadal's skills are better than ever, that is why he's able to win 4 consecutive French Opens in his 30s, and 2 of the last 3 US Opens prior to withdrawing from 2020 US Open which he'd probably have won too....
BTW, Nadal served for the MATCH in the 2nd Set. Medvedev got out of jail.
Let's face it, nobody can stop Nadal from adding to his 20 slams, and there is no limit in sight....

What a shame there was no crowd, not just because this was the last year the tournament was held in London, but because we were treated to some really fun matches over the past week.

I knew Medvedev could return to his old form that won him titles as well as gave Rafa a major scare at the US Open, though after struggling for the entire 2020 before Paris, I didn't expect this. So congratulations to him on this great recovery.

For such a good player, Thiem's conversion rate of big finals leaves a lot to be desired. But he's putting himself in these positions with regularity now. Nobody will looks past him now.

Despite a lot of tournaments getting cancelled, decent season. As usual, Roland Garros didn't disappoint. :p

7 Top 10 wins in the last 1 year 5 months for Nadal which is equal to the number of top 10 wins Medvedev scored in the last 10 days alone

Another proof of clay brats disgusting vulturing via rigged draws
