He went 5 sets with #3 on the GOAT list after beating Nadal in the Quarters. That’s a solid tournament. Only really choked at the end of the fourth, which was the set Djoker stopped hitting UE after UE after UE (choking in his own right for 2 sets). 5th set was Novak playing like Novak should. Good final and great tournament for Thiem

Wawarinka was and remains the toughest opponent of Djokovic. Thiem is tough too, but Djokovic believes against him. Djokovic doesn’t have the same belief against Wawrinka.

Noticing a pattern to Djokovic championship matches. He starts off good, inexplicably implodes and starts losing games, then a few sets later he flips a switch and its back to buddha mode, cant lose wont lose. The end of the match is always him in complete control. Is it tactics? Is it tennis IQ where hes just the best at figuring out opponents? Or is he just sandbagging to make it more interesting?

Personally I prefer that if hes gonna win with such domination, he should just play the entire match like that. That way I can go to sleep sooner.
