Wawarinka was and remains the toughest opponent of Djokovic. Thiem is tough too, but Djokovic believes against him. Djokovic doesn’t have the same belief against Wawrinka.

Wawrinka only beat him once on this court out of 3 tries and that was 9-7 in the 5th. He played the best match of his AO career in 2013 against Djokovic and lost. Why can't people just accept Novak is the greatest AO player ever?

When will AO end this scheduling nightmare? It should always have been equal days off for both parties after a slam SF. At the end of the day, the long matches Thiem had (before the final) caught up with him as he choked.
Novak shows why he is a champion and deservedly gets #17. This loss will badly sting for Dominic. 0-3 in slam finals and sometimes it becomes an insurmountable mental block.

On to Paris for RG. Draw will be critical. Whichever of Nadal or Djokovic gets Thiem in their half will have a Lopsided tough draw and could possibly lose the championship.
Will it be #18 for Novak at RG or #20 for Nadal at RG ? That might well decide the GOAT race..

Meanwhile NOT having new slam winners CANNOT be good for Tennis - an endless loop of fossils (no offense to Nadal/Fed/Djoko) ruling the sport. Tennis needs a NEW champion. FAST...
