Great point.

Sort of want Sandgren to make the SF so we can see the mental gymnastics Lew makes to big him up as one of Djokovic's greatest ever opponents :sneaky:

That was one of the best match points I have seen in a long time from Tennys Sandgren, absolutely beautiful little touch at the end. He is playing really good at the moment.

Some (Novak fans) think that got too much rest before the SF
And? There is no guarantee he beats Federer otherwise. There is absolutely no guarantee he beats Nadal in the final. And even if so, it would have been the question if he withstands the pressure at Wimbledon and US Open if he really goes for CYGS. I mean, saving the 40-15 situation is one thing, but doing it under that circumstances is totally different.

And Nadal faced only a total of 2 top 20 in his last two USO titles. Very convenient.
Yes but I was commenting Feds draw now. And his draw turned out beautiful for him there is no denying that. Very Nice draw for him. Nothing wrong with mentioning that.

Fognini-Sandgren 6:7(5), 5:7, 7:6(2), 4:6
Amazing MP
Sandgren reached QF at Grand Slam tournaments for the second time in his career and again at AO!

All I know is when you stand toe to toe with Fabio and trade groundstrokes with him over and over and come out the winner you are kind of a bad ass.

It’s not a knock on poly. Everyone can choose to use it but it’s proven that the strings have changed the game dramatically in the last two decades. If that wasn’t fact, how could you have a small Belgian company like Luxilon go from making sewing thread in the 1950’s to reaching gold standard status in the string business and beating the Asian low-labor-cost synthetics that dominated the industry until the 90’s?
Of course it has, I don't think anyone will deny it. So have the graphite frames or changing grass court tournaments all year around to only a month, so has uber slow hard courts that are slower than some clay. But it is what it is, we have to get on with it.

That's usually the case for the Big3 until the QF. Nothing wrong in mentioning that too.

Oh, Djoko has a very beautiful draw until the SF too. Just saying.

Schwartzman top 15 player, in form Raonic and former slam finalist. I'd say that is normal and reasonable. And Struff 1st round. Thats not a beautiful draw.

Kyrgios just did the best troll over Djoko with the local TV Channel's "Guess Who" game!!! AHhahhaahhahhaa...this will blow up on this forum!!!:-D:-D:-D

Which was exactly what my question to tony was about...I played multifilament synthetic or nattie gut in the RD-Tour frame that was Hewitt’s stick of choice from the mid-90s. The racquet stunk with poly. The Yonex line today tolerates the poly so much better, I think starting in the early 00’s so graphite designers are way ahead of where they were even just a decade ago. Sinner is playing Head Graphene Speed with full Head Hawk poly at 27kg and still hit dropshots with that board. It’s just crazy!

Lol. Shortman is a top15 player?? Fognini is a 12th seed and just got taken out by in form Tennys. But that translates as easy for you but Shortman and Raonic are very difficult for Djoko.

Please stop, you are sounding like a Fed hater now. Oh wait

Pretty obvious you were going to defend Djoko's beautiful draw. Typical haters play.

Schwartzman was never going to be a tough opponent outside of clay.

And Milos is 0-9 against Novak, with only 2 sets won.

The local channel was doing a "Guess Who" segment with Nick (see Immoral Winner's post below).

Nick asked the presenter was his player-card the greatest player in the history of the sport, the presenter said yes, and Nic quickly flipped down Novak's photo....ahahhahahahahhahhahahha...and the camera zoomed right into Novak's photo. When the tube is on line, it will be the best trolling gif....ahahahahahhahaahhahahaahh

What did he say?
I was watching that and completely missed it. What did he say?
Please share when you can!

I didn't say they are very difficult. You are overreacting right now. All I'm saying is Djokovic atleast got a top 15 player wich is normal in a 4th round. And Raonic is ten times more dangerous than Sandgren will ever be.

Fed has an unusually easy draw until final 4 and what's wrong with mentioning that when it's a fact.

Overreacting is someone who says Raonic is very challenging for Djoko when their h2h is 0-9 as opposed to Tennys for Fed.

I am just calling out your Fed hating. Nothing wrong with that.

Its okay for Fed to have an unusually easy draw when Nadal has received unusually easy draws countless times which is a fact too.

Fucsovics is playing so much better than Diego Shortman. But that does not stop the haters from saying Fed has it easy or in actual words "unsually easy".

You are really making a big deal out of nothing.

Just like how you are making an unusually big deal of Fed's draw.
What's the big deal I'm making? He has no seeded player until SFs. Fucsovics is ranked 67 in the world and Tennys is ranked 100. These are his 4th and QF round opponents. But yeah, call me a hater for stating the obvious that it's a draw you would wish for. Seems to me you have some huge insecurity problems when you can't even admit thats an easy riding considering the opponent and round for a major and instead have to argue about it.

Fed got Milkman who already beat him convincingly. Fucsovics ran through the Next Gens and Tennys just played a masterful match to take out #12th seed.

But yea keep saying I am making a big deal by refuting your theory about Fed's draw analysis that is devoid of any perspective. Sounds like a haters approach any day.

The "38 yr old"'s draw was anything but "unusually easy".

Fucsovic and Sandgren are players youd want to play in a 4th round and QF any day of major. Millman is a tough player but it's Feds fault for making it that close.

You need to calm down a bit and not take it so personal cause Im stating the obvious. Federer got all in all a very desirable draw for a major although he hasn't made the best of it. Nothing wrong with that, sometimes you get lucky. I think it's just hilarious your feelings are hurt for stating this.

What on earth are you on about? Of course this is a good path for Fed to the semis. Doesn't mean it's easy, but lower ranked players are more likely to have a letdown after a big win, less experienced at playing on the showcourts at the end of a GS.

As a Fed fan, I don't have trouble admitting this. I'm also quite happy to take it. :D

Of course, anyone who gets to the tail end of a GS is playing well so that doesn't mean it's easy.

(Sent from my mobile phone, apologies for typos!)

Lol ok. So now Milkman is a tough player but it's all Fed's fault for making it close??

Fucsovics beat Shapolavov and beat the player who took out Dimitrov. That by itself will suffice as a another tough opponent.

So Fed did not have an unusually easy draw based on the above two facts.

I am just stating my personal opinion that Fed has a challenging which is pretty obvious.

Lol, you both need to decide first.

Regardless of what happens on the showcourt, Fed is facing the players who beat the seeded players. Perhaps because they were good enough.

Djoko has not played anyone that is anymore difficult to him than the tough players Fed faced. However, this fact is not easily digested. So, just calling out the hypocrisy.
