Guess I missed. Babos and Mlad, #2 seeds, proved to be too much for the McCoco pair. Loved the Kobe Bryant tribute on the shoes of McNally & Gauff. Kudos to Kyrgios for his acknowledgment as well.

No surpise that Kvitová would not do well here. Its not her major at all.

Barty ending the drought in place since 1984 would be a thing to see, but for it to happen on the anniversary of Court's historic Grand Slam victory in 1970 would be sweet.

That said, I'm hoping Muguruza takes the title.
I'm impressed with Halep's shot length.
She sometimes plays really short but today she's consistently hitting close to the opponent's baseline.

Halep storms into the SF with a 6-1 6-1 demolition of Kontaveit.

The only player left in the ladies draw who hasn’t dropped a set.

She’ll play the winner of Muguruza and Pavlyuchenkova.

I knew Halep would win but yowzers! :) Hoping Muguruzu makes it through to the SF's and for a strong match from both players! :)
Barty v Kenin
Halep v Muguruza

Player of the year v most improved player of the year
Wimbledon champ and former #1 v 2x former slam champ and former #1.

Pretty damn good potential lineup. Sorry Pavlyuchenkova but I’m cheering for Garbie.

am watching this Muguruza vs Pavlyuchenkova match.
Garbine has pretty pronounced pokies! Don't the girl players worry about such things? Don't their coaches or whoever tell them before they walk out on to the court?

Rut roh. Seems like Garbi is pressing a bit much. Feel like she was playing with more margin in previous matches.

She just hit every ball long in this game....

That service game by Pavs reminded me of a few from my last match. I doubled faulted like 8 times in my first set before cleaning things up. lmao

I'll take it though.
Just a terrible match from Pavlyuchenkova.
Muguruza was there for the taking, didn't play well at all, especially in the first set.
She had multiple chances to break and to consolidate breaks but was more interested in handing the set to Muguruza on her own serve.
Once again, Anastasia failed to make it through to a semifinal, and it's becoming apparent why it's very likely she never will.
