Barty melted down, but Kenin was there to take advantage and played TOUGH when it counted and never stopped competing.
This is why they play the matches,, folks. Maybe Barty is better overall at this point, but you have to go out and prove that, and if another player can take it from you, that's that.
Again, that was just a crazy fast turn of events.

Yeah luckiest run I have ever seen. Hopefully great Henin wins the next semis. She would destroy lucky untalented Kenin with ease in the final.

She did play her best today and got lucky Barty was about 5 levels below her best (and still need Barty choking) but yeah even a poor Halep is far too much for Kenin's best. The luck she has had with choking opponents and easy draw is bound to run out.

There’s a freeness to playing in your first slam semifinal. You lose, so what you were a surprise to make it that far in the first place. You win, great. If it’s you’re second slam semifinal and in your hoe country, that freeness isn’t there but the pressure is.

She's by no means a bad player. I like her spirit and I certainly enjoy her interviews. BUT, she really doesn't have a game good enough to be a slam champ just yet. She ought to hope that either of the other two drops their level massively or she's getting steamrolled.
I'm always with fellow Americans by default, but being honest here, Barty is a much more complete player and ought to have won in two relatively straightforward sets.

You are clueless. Do you even play tennis? No business getting into the final? Might want to read up on Kenin‘s accomplishments.
People say that but she won three titles last year. The first 3 of her career. Don't count her out.
Sorry, Kenin fan, but it's a message board and we don't all need to share your undying admiration for her game. I read critical posts about my fave players all the time and deal. I recommend you do the same.

Yeah it is too bad Barty picked now of all times to play probably her worst match in many years. The scary thing is she still should have won both sets, particularly the 2nd, playing so awful, and with Kenin playing out of her mind.
Watch for a beatdown of Kenin in the final most likely. Shame for Barty to underperform so badly on home soil in what could have been an epic moment for her.
Kenin isn't a slam final calibre player at all, but we have a high number of non slam final caliber women making slam finals in recent years with the strange and open WTA. She is just another.

I can absolutely believe Kenin beating Barty, even if Barty is better. But, I can't believe those last three games. It all unraveled so quickly for Barty.
I love that Bethanie Mattek Sands brought her "i'm gonna do me" style to the broadcast booth.

Bigtime. She was even lucky to survive Gauff. And so lucky today. Barty playing literally some of her worst ever tennis and still had many points and chances to win both sets, and a big lead in the 2nd.

There is a very underestimated quality in tennis and that is to make the opponent play worse. Kenin seems to have that quality.
That's fine, no one said she has no business winning titles. She's top 20 for a reason, and I expect a T20 player to win titles. Slam, not so sure about, but we'll see soon enough.

Still clueless. I’m not a Kenin fan, but I suggest you read up on her before you spout off with absolutely zero knowledge of what you are talking about. You are embarrassing yourself and you don’t even realize it.
