Really, Halep is winning. Are you hitting the wine again?
Get outta the thread with this crap.

It's an even match right now but Mugu could very well pull ahead if she cleans up some of the errors. Simonas usually the one under pressure during the points, but she's come up with good shots.

Hey waddaya know the more aggressive player is now up the break.

Gets so much crap for being "one dimensional" but she goes to net more often than most players.

Halep staying composed though.

Garbi seems to have a bit more killer instinct though, so I think she will close this out with some big serves.

Actually she deserved all the flak she got considering she is the one who started this awful grunting trend. Heck she deserved a lot more than she got. All this is her fault basically.
She didn't force anyone to do it. It's the fault of every individual person who does it. Plus, she's the one who got flak, was sent the message "this isn't okay", criticized by commentators, so if anything her experience would have been a reason for players not to do it.

Just woke up and see that Kenin won! :) So happy for her! :)

Now I am watching this close match between Halep and Muguruzu - not sure who I am rooting for! Both of them! :)

I wouldn’t mind Simona winning it all, but I was able to get 12/1 odds on Garbine after 3R and threw down a $50 bet so that would obviously be better for me.

Bollettieri's academy should share the blame for not discouraging this from Seles and their other star students. The WTA and the ITF should have also addressed this trend 25-30 years ago. Especially with junior players. By the time these players get to the pros it's nearly impossible to retrain those ingrained habits.

Wonderful tennis by Garbine to take the 1st set from the most talented player in womens tennis Simona Halep. Caliber of this match is about 10 times higher than the previous one where Barty was so horrendously off form.

What a choke from halep. All those sps blown.

pretty crazy how mugu went from losing her form and losing to so many randoms to beating halep in just one tournament.

I forgot how loud they both are, extremely noticeable in that tiebreak, haha.

Really competitive match. I think the winner of this match will win the title.
