The power Giorgi can create with such a tiny frame is crazy. I mean Kerber is pretty toned while Giorgi just looks so thin but man she hits the ball hard.

Pavs takes the first set in an hour and 16 minutes. Kerber/Giorgi started at the same time and are in a second set breaker. Tennis.

I really can't stand Kerber's game. Ultimate pusher of the wimens game? 118 kph 2nd serve, c'mon it's supposed to be professional tennis. How on earth did she become No1 before and won 3 slams it is beyond me.

So after no real upsets til the 3R it looks like we are set to lose: Serena, Wozniacki, Osaka, Keys and Pliskova all in the same round.

Barty, Kvitová, Kerber (also struggling), Muguruza and Halep would be the only ones left in the tournament who’ve won a slam or even made a slam final.

while looks like the wheels have popped off the Camila express :(
Yeah, sorry I started watching folks!

I love the way Giorgi whips all her shots, crazy racquet head speed, or so it looks. But after what, a decade? I've just about given up hope that she will adjust her approach and aim for the court.

I’ve said this before, but Giorgi should get a top level coach who would bring more tactics to her game and calmness to her on court presence. Her coach father only adds to her restlessness on the court, Giorgi is mirroring her father’s energy.

Kerber just loves even number years and hates odd number years!

Slam record:
2019: 4-4
2018: 18-3 (won a slam, SF and QF at the others)
2017: 6-4
2016: 20-2 (won 2 slams and a final at Wimbledon)
2015: 6-4
2014: 12-4 (Wimbledon QF)
2013: 10-4
2012: 14-4 (Wimbledon SF & French QF)

Kerber completed a 3 set match against Giorgi in 2 hours and 10 minutes. That match started the same time as this Pliskova/Pavlyuchenkova match which could still go to a tiebreak and then a 3rd set.

Already the 14th longest match of the tournament.
