Interesting match for the semi final. Bautista-Agut has a good record against Djokovic on hard courts, he's won their last 3 matches. What does everyone think? Looking for unbiased opinions.

The level was shockingly low in RBA's match against Mad Lad. RBA was broken 5 times by Mad Lad.
How on earth is he gonna play close with the best returner in the game when he is under constant pressure on serve?

Wish I could change my vote from Joe Cavitch 2-0. With the extra day off all bets are off now for an easy match; RBA will be recharged.

Not really. I heard complaints about the third set but the first two were rather good.

Well, I disagree. They didn't play well at the same time, the tempo was very low and Medvedev didn't even fight, which is his strength. He pushed with his forehand (injured?). Huge parts of the match was like a hitting session in the centre of the court. Below par serving, 10 breaks of serve...

The Raonic - Krajinovic match was a whole other level of tennis, played at a much higher tempo.

I know some find it impressing when two professional tennis players are able to hit 20+ strokes back and forth, but hey :)

Djokovic could tank if Ahut makes this a grindfest
Kinda how I feel. Djokovic is probably in good enough form to dispatch RBA in an easy straight sets, but if the Spaniard turns it into a battle, I can't see Novak going all-out to win. The real prize doesn't start till Monday. Especially since he could have another tough match with Tsitsipas in the final. (Raonic could pose problems too if he serves well enough, but that's a far less physical match.) And everything was just bumped back a day. Would be quite a feat if he blitzes through Cincy the week before the US Open, then goes on to win that one as well.

To each his own, Raonic boting does not hold my attention all the time. Kraji did a great job, But a world where raomug rules And then get slaughtered in the finals it’s not one that I like. I enjoyed them in 2016 at the Australian open and on grass quite a bit but fast Hardcourts or another matter. Murray has one of the greatest returns of first serve the game has seen and couldn’t win a point against RaoMug in their first set in the super fast conditions. Luckily for this match it was much cooler withKrajinović. Just reminds me of the ATP in the late 90s which I just did not watch as it just was not that great to watch and the public agreed as the ratings were terrible.

I think Mad Weed is fine. Frankly I think you way under sell their match. For me RBA found a solution and I think The hot fast conditions allowed him to bully med around a little bit more and get him under pressure. Mad weed was claiming these courts were just as slow as last year or the same but he got a rude awakening in this match and was not very happy by the end. For him to prosper at the US open and it’s going to have to be cooler which it will be for the for seeable report and he’s going to have to serve better than he did last year which he can do and has done like in Tokyo 2018.

I don’t think he’s injured at all as his forehead is not great. Med’s game at its heart is one of attrition And these faster conditions make it harder for him to play that game. I can’t imagine that he would be able to handle RaoMug’s forEhand whatsoever.

Depending on the physicality of match might depend on djoko big desire to push through this. As schedule been pushed back a day it complicates things a little ahead of us open. However, Novak is relatively fresh and rolled through his draw so far. If he can come out guns blazing he will have the reserves for this match then final and then us open next week. However, if it gets into a slugfest and grind he may not be too bothered if he loses tomorrow and save himself for us open. Will be a good match either way.

They played on the grandstand last year. :sneaky: Bats usually flies under the radar because he’s a low-key guy and his game is not flashy, to put it mildly.
