Players are choking too much against Djokovic. Just look at recent matches.
Thiem choked in the second set of Madrid 2019 semifinal.
Del Potro brought a crazy choke in Rome 2019 1/4 final. All he had to do was hit an easy forehand into an open court and he failed.
Nadal was choking like crazy in Rome 2019 final. Won the first set 6-0, had tons of break points in the second set and yet almost ended losing the match.
Thiem almost beat them all in RG 2019 semifinal. He was choking so hard that even the most crazy Djokovic fanboys admitted that it was a choke.
Obviously Federer had 2 matchpoints on serve in Wimbledon final.
And now Monfils can't win when he has 3 matchpoints, 2 on serve.

After the early break in 2nd, I thought that he would give up on a not-so-important turnament. But the warrior showed his real face. Should have finished off the set before that crazy tiebreaker...

I can’t believe he pulled through that match. Will need to play better in final against Tsitsipas to stand a chance of getting a 5th Dubai crown and go 18-0 for 2020. Still amazing mental strength from Djokovic again. Credit to Monfils for great performance, he was in good form.

Have to see where it all ends up to really know how costly Wimby 19 was.
I could honestly see the slam leader when the dust settles being at 22+ if the field cant figure it out. They’ve shown little evidence they can.
definitely agree Wimb 19 was damaging but there were other slams Fed bottled bad which also hurt the slam race just as bad.

Great match. Monfils is in reeally good form. Djokovic is just a soul crusher. When he is down out out of form he has that wild card in his back pocket.

Djokovic got a lot younger in the third set, and Monfils aged really rapidly. Overall, both clearly demonstrated that they are post-peak and post-prime and should be post-retirement but for this MUG era.

Honestly, Djokovic was very poor at the start. That insane intensity that we saw in the previous matches wasn't there. Yes, Monfils played great, but Novak's play was like night and day compared the other matches he played here. Then the end of the second set, and Djokovic just blowing so many chances to win the set, frustrating to watch. Then Monfils, who seriously at that point should have punished Novak loses three MPs and the set himself with some seriously strange play at times. Third set and Monfils is pretty much dead and it was a blow out. Both had many screws up in this match IMO.

Chokefils. Was constantly out-lasting Novak for most of the match then suddenly decided to forgo the winning formula by over-hitting on two MPs.

Thanks for asking! The doctor and her intern couldn’t see anything wrong with tommy ear so at least I don’t have an infection. We’ll see if a steroid spray will help. Hoping so.
