Khachanov has play Djokovic several times now recently and has not done well. It is time that Khachanov get a win!

Nothing would make me happier than an upset, but it's probably not going to happen. To his credit, Khachanov has beaten Djokovic on the biggest stage, denying Novak a Masters title, but I'm pressing X to doubt here.

This is when the tournament really starts for Novak. Hoping for a routine win

funny that his draw is called easy but not Nadal‘s, compare his 4th round opponent to Novak’s..

Nadal potentially has Zverev, Thiem, and Djokovic in a row. Djokovic doesn't really have anyone of the likes of those opponents until the final. Unless either Tsitsipas or Rublev exceed expectations.

Though Nadal has had the better first few rounds, for sure. Just about the easiest he could hope for, but it ramps up from QF-F, unlike Djokovic's draw.

I think people are sleeping on Rublev. These conditions are perfect for him

Possibly.

Under normal circumstances, he'd be a definite threat for sure. But recall how this will be his third consecutive full week of tennis. He should try to conserve his energy if he can, but against Tsitsipas that might be difficult. Though he won their last encounter, it went the distance and Tsits served for it too.

I'd probably rather face him than either of Thiem or Zverev, never mind both of them consecutively.

Djokovic in straights, not the type of player to trouble djokovic on clay, his draw has gone a bit soft since yesterday action as RBA got out and I don't see Pcb being that bigger threat infact djokovic will be eager to brush him aside following what happened in. New York

Djokovic is hitting big this week while his error rate is still low - drop shots should also work well against a tall guy who is not amongst the best movers on the tour. Khachanov will be tougher competition though than Ymer, Berankis and Galan. Karen will win one set and unless he succeeds in getting Djokovic defaulted, he should go down in four sets. If Novak is in top form and keeps his focus throughout the match in spite of the fight from a better opponent, he might even win in straights - waiting to see if he has any angry outbursts.

I think Khachanov can test him

Right now potential draws for Nadal from 4R onwards are : Korda, Sinner, Thiem, and Djokovic. For Novak the potential draw is Kachanov, PCB, Rublev/Tsitsipas, Nadal.

I’d say Novak’s draw is at least equal if not more difficult

Djoko should win here. I expect some tough moments but Djokovic will overcome them and seal the deal in 3 sets.

No. The only name that matters is Thiem.
so the whole “Nadal has a more difficult draw“ argument boils down to Thiem?

Nadal faces Novak in the final while Novak faces Nadal. Given that I’d say a Thiem-Novak SF and F is the same as or even easier than a Tsitsipas-Nadal combo. But opinions may vary.

If Nadal faces Thiem SF he had the tougher draw.

After today's match it shouldn't. Thiem played a tactically horrific match and showed he's unable to deal with predictable drop shots from a guy ranked 237. Gaston was serving literally 85 MPH first serves and Thiem couldn't do a damn thing except stand in the stands and wait for the sissy serve to arrive. He would be destroyed by either Rafa or Novak, that's pretty clear.

Match is tomorrow morning (or nine hours from now for those in different time zones). Take your final picks so you can laugh at the other plebs if you get it right.
