At this rate, Schwartzman will be HOPELESS against Nadal. He'll struggle to even win a set. And you can practically kiss Djokovic's chances away. You can't beat Nadal when he gets in an RG semifinal or final.

But of course deluded trolls like @StrongRule will say that he is out of form.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Are you really blind? Nadal was getting outplayed in the first two sets. If Sinner pushed him like this, imagine what Djokovic will do to him. A repeat of AO 2019 final.

Congrats to nadal blnt sinner,,nadal too much for the young lad,,

Honestly, as long as they don't make the final a closed roof night match, I think Nadal will beat anyone in the final, including Djokovic.

I give Diego a slight chance in the semis if Rafa plays terrible, but after playing Thiem for 5 hours, it's difficult to see how he will have the legs to have a strong chance against Rafa, as long as Rafa plays at least decent. So Nadal is probably in the final

That's it. I think the most dominant player at a specific tournament is now Djokovic in AO. What makes him better than Federer at Wimbledon and Nadal at RG is that he never lost in a semifinal or a final there. When he is out of form he just loses early, but he never loses when he goes far enough. Nadal also had that in RG, but there is no way he wins this year. That's why I wanted him to lose early...

Nadal will beat Djokovic in the final in 4 sets. Book it.

Roger has lost a semi at Wimbledon

And clearly it makes no difference in terms of legacy if you couldn't even remember it
I said Djokovic never lost a semifinal or final in AO. I said this is why he is better there than Federer at Wimbledon and than Nadal in RG. I remember all the times Federer lost in Wimbledon.

When Sinner wins a total of 9 games against Rafa, please understand why every fanbase is taking him lightly at this stage. Based on his career results, it's the only choice.

Fair play, BeatlesFan. You were right, and almost spot-on with the total games prediction.

I do think Sinner was still very impressive. He gave Rafa a good test and hopefully good preparation as the tournament gets tougher.

Sinner mostly checked out in the 3rd, probably a combination of lack of stamina and demoralization at the fact that, even playing better than Nadal, it was not enough to hit through him and keep the balls from coming back junked out.

Denadalization denied, but the Schwartz Man looms in semis, and he is on a roll. Maybe Diego's grit will be a better weapon here than taking huge cuts at the ball.

Djokovic will have the same number in 4 years from now. And he will never lose a semifinal or final in AO, this is what makes the difference. Ironically, him losing to Istomin and Chung when out of form helped his legacy. Unless Nadal pulls a miracle and somehow wins this (not going to happen given his level) he will hurt himself a lot...

Nadal today is the best forehand performance I've ever seen from a tennis player.
BTW Sinner has an excellent forehand too, probably the 2nd best forehand in the tournament.

Djokovic got pushed to 5 by Tim this year at AO. Was lucky to win and I’ll admit that.

Nadal’s fanbase on TTW is so insecure it makes me a bit ashamed to be a part of it at times. One dropped serve and it’s alert, one dropped set and it’s over, one lost match and it’s time to retire.
lol that’s StrongRule

In regards to the above discussion:

Would still take Fed at Wimby over Djoker at AO by a sizable margin. Cleaner victories, more finals/semis, etc.

The undefeated in finals bit doesn't really help your resume that much at all. You could lose in a bunch of early rounds (as Djoker did in 2017-2018, as well as losing in some QFs now and then) and keep the streak alive.

Djokovic will never have 12 Australian Opens. He's getting older every year, and the whole tour plays on hardcourt.

These new kids coming up like Sinner with big games and no fear, are going to be big threats at slams. Plus the established NextGenners and Thiem. I think Thiem has a great shot at winning the next Australian Open.
