I'm honestly shocked Tiafoe got this far with his game. All of his shots just scream hopeful hitting, he does't seem to have any gameplan or tactical shot placement.

Having seen him play live several times he has some pretty good attributes. Movement, shot tolerance, return game, touch, power.
Honestly if his serve and forehand weren't so inconsistent and technically poor he could definitely be top 10.

Medvedev is actually similar IMO, just better at covering his flaws, anticipates better, and more mentally tough

I love watching him play. I find him to play a much more deliberate, thinking man's version of tennis than most.

I really don't agree, a lot of players in the top 50 have a good game but to be top 10 you need to have the tennis brain too and be able to make the two work together. Tiafoe has the game for sure although i think he's a bit too ballbashy at times but he just doesn't have the brain to match it, he needs better shot placement and shot selection. He gets too predictable and gets exposed too easily by the better players. You almost feel like he needs to be on his A-game the entire match to stand a chance and no player can be zoning every match, sometimes you need to let the tactics do the work, not just the game.

Medvedev has a really weird looking game but it's highly effective. Definitely think he's the most likely multi slam winner of the younger guys.

I’d love to know how many unforced errors Med has off his backhand this tournament. Only saw one in tonight’s match. It’s a sniper shot. A little bit of a pusher shot, but crazy effective.

Coric is winning on that side. But I agree, Rublev and Thiem back to back is brutal.
