Interesting match for the quarter final. Medvedev leads the H2H 3-0 without dropping a set in any of those matches. Also not dropped a set so far in the tournament. What do you think about this match?

Expecting Medvedev to win 3-1.

I'll be cheering hard for Rublev, still.

@Sysyphus do you like Rublev because he reminds you of young Muzz?

But he also has nice footwork and a beautiful, angry straight-arm forehand, which he will hopefully bring today.

Probably Medvedev in 4. I don't know for whom to cheer, both are some of my favorite players, if only one of them was on the other half...
Hopefully we will get a great and not too texting on the body match, so the winner will be fresh for the semi.

Meddy in 3 sets! I think mad lad has a great chance now. It’s gonna be interesting to see which player handles the pressure the best now in these big matches.

So sick of the Serena crap match going on forever. At least in the Steffi Graf days, she was off court in 30 minutes after a 6-1, 6-0 routine win. Get Med on court!
The worst is now going on with all the post-match commentary...Shriver, Stevenson, Cahill and McKendry now rehashing the same things that Stubbs, Evert and Fowler dwelled on.

so does Rublev have a good chance of beating this dude ? apparently rublev knows this russian inside and out. when you know the guy, it makes it very dangerous.

From the early points it looks like Rublev is willing to be patient, happy to rally.

He'll struggle to hit through the incredibly solid Med here, though.

Some very precise, long rallies already. Ping pong.

Rublev going seamlessly between "-BUEH!!!!" and silence. Odd one. Perhaps it's his anger that is flowing back and forth.

Like the contrast their game styles provide. The last point of Rublev's first service game featured a 35-shot rally where Medvedev eventually missed a winner attempt off a slice. Medvedev's first service game featured exactly zero rallies (four unreturned serves, two errors off Rublev's returns (one unforced, one forced)).

Medvedev should step in and make a point in returning those weak second serves a good way into the court.

The contrast will wreck havoc with Rublev and compromise his serve nerve.

Watched Ruvlev alot in the past and thought he always looked scared to make the next step and wouldn't get much better but watching him today (and for the first time at the us open this year) he looks so much more calm and his game looks solid.

Med standing so, so far back needs to be exploited, but Rublev is so one-dimensional he won't come to net or drop shot Med.

So far, Rublev is having success in the longer rallies, perhaps a bit surprisingly.

Medvedev taking some initiative, showing he's more than a grinder.
