Don't see how De Minaur beats Thiem. De Minuar doesn't even have a big serve that could have troubled Thiem.

Med really upped his level during the first set tiebreak. After that, he was comfortably leading (though Rublev still put up a good fight).

Got to say I'm a little worried about Med. His left quad was cramping and he was limping between points.

Also after getting treatment on his shoulder, for sure he started to only focus on his serve games, and trying to finish points quickly.

Rublev was too focused on himself to notice and work on keeping Med in the court.

Anyway, from now until Friday I'm sure Med will recover. But not sure how he'll react to having to play 4-5 sets.

That is being bold. If both Med and Z win their SFs on paper it looks like Z will have the physically less tiring win as Med is likely to face Thiem in his SF. Also account for the h2h which Zverev leads 5-1 with all matches taking place on hard courts.

OTOH Med showed he can be pretty tough in a slam final losing in 5 sets to Nadal last year and Zverev hasn't played a slam final yet so how he copes with it mentally is yet to be known.

As the likely SF line up will contain 3 of top tier younger gen names I interested to see who will pull through.

With the FO just around the corner Rafa and Djok might slightly prefer Med or Zverev to win the USO.

They’re not mutually exclusive. Med and Thiem can have their battle in the semis and PCB can clean up in the final.

It would be terrible if PCB won over Mad Lad or Thieminator in the final due to their devastating battle in SF.
