I hope this is the last major EVER without fans.

Thiem is definitely a great player. He's improved every year, and has fewer and fewer weaknesses. He's almost impossible for anyone to beat in big tournaments.

Having said that, he's one of those guys, like Nalbandian and Ivanisevic, who upon reaching the back end, find there's someone waiting who's just a bit better. He's just not quite naturally gifted enough to be a 10 tournament/world number one type player. I hope he's able to have a season like that some day, but I doubt it.

Not to mention he's a MENTAL MIDGET. He chokes more than any top player I've ever seen.
He LACKS BELIEF. He's just NOT champion material. =

He might win a slam here and there. With LUCK. But he will NEVER be a great player. Thiem lacks that secret sauce that the very best have.
He is designed to be a slam finalist and a pretender, but not a Hall of Famer.

Dunno you see him (Thiem)_ beat Nadal on clay? Just redlining with nerve/verve...

Agree. As huge fan the development of his hard court game has me dreaming again like in early 2016 where he beat nadal for clay title, fed for grass, and his serve driven triumph in Acapulco. Pretty clear his best is yet to come.

This is the biggest pile of dung quarterfinal night session Ive ever seen. Imagine buying expensive tickets for these

I fear Thiem and Medvedev will have an absolute epic in the SF and the winner will be tired for the final and that Zverev will just benefit immensely and walk through to his first slam.
My fears too.
This so much.
That bratty fraud is always lucky.
Almost hope Carreno Busta wins that one. I mean he was the one who was aggravating Djokovic which resulted in the default. On top of it, many people would call that an asterisk.

I don't want Zverev winning the whole thing, but it would bring greater legitimacy (if you can call it that) to a win by Thiem or Medvedev if they beat a fellow nextgenner to win it.
Oh for sure, i'm saying if the Thiem/Medvedev play an epic, i'd rather PCB gets through and nabs the slam. If it's not an exhausting 5 set thriller than definitely Zverev v the winner of the SF with Med/Thiem winning that final.
