Having seen Novak's level today I have a feeling this could turn out to be a classic, well, a classic given that we are in 2021.. Zverev is going to have to swing freely and stop with this cute baseline outlasting tennis. He will have to overpower the old man from Belgrade if he wants to win.

Both guys are also serving like 80% first serves for the tourney which is absurd. I have a prediction: whoever has the higher first serve % wins the match.

The last 3 times I believed Zverev would play to his full potential against a tough opponent, he delivered disappointment. Don't expect anything special from him anymore, so watch him come out blazing. Still, Djokovic in 3 seems like the most plausible outcome because Zverev has the game. but doesn't have the conviction to win.

I just read an interesting stat.
Last 16 times a player (ANY player) faced Zverev in the SF of a tournament, he did not lift the trophy. Either that player lost the SF against Zverev or he lost the final. Last exemple is Medvedev in Paris... Alcaraz in Vienna, Djokovic in US and JO, Tsitsipas in RG, Thiem in Madrid,...
The last one who made it is... Basilashvili... in Hamburg 2019. He beat Zverev in SF and Rublev in final.
I guess it shows how exhausting it is to play and beat Zverev.
Will Djokovic finally break this gruesome cycle ? Lol

Medvedev was really exhausted after that Paris semi.

Just kidding :)

Lol good point, but this year AO, I was pretty sure that after facing Zverev if he has faced Med in semi( as he was ranked number 3) , he was going to loose the match

Come on Sasha! You can win a best of 3 match, you've done it before and you can do it today! I sure hope so! I want to relax while watching the final and be happy either way with the outcome. I really want a Medvedev vs Zverev final!!!!! (: (: (:

Only because you don’t want Djokovic to win as you don’t like him. You are so predictable lol

Djokovic is playing impressive tennis since Bercy, while Zverev's level is clearly not as good compared to the Olympics/Cincinnati/and some moments at the US Open where he peaked at a high level. If Zverev doesn't step up, Djoker in two sets IMO

Zverev has been serving very good in this yec so if Zverev continued that good serving then it will be hard for Novak to break

Naah bruh, faster the surface better the serve+return combo for nole. Plus, his short swings and redirecting abilities are suitable here more than zverev's.
This surface isn't the bouncier one like london.

If Djokovic loses more than 6 games in total, I change my avi to yours for a week. If not, then you'll change to mine..
Done deal, bruh???
Would be fun innit??
So if Zverev wins 6 games or less in total, you win. Otherwise I do? Sure. Let's do it. Will be nice seeing my avatar twice on this board, then I can get even more confused.

Yeah, I'll put myself in there lol. So its a done deal

Talking of match, my gut feeling really really tells me that Djokovic will be out for revenge and in dialed mode.
Apart from Roger he's got none to fear on this surface really.

There is one big thing that worries me though.

Weird never heard that before, for me it's afternoon as soon as it hits 12:01.
You're so time-ist lol, the entire world is so unjust towards the poor noon.

Morning, evening, night, afternoon all got their times in hours, but what about the poor noon? Only one minute?? So I decided to be generous and give her 59 mins.

J/k, don't take these gibberish of mine for seriously. I'm in a very very very light mood today.

And beating them BOTH in a row in the same tournament is the hardest challenge.
The hardest challenge since when, the last 3 months? There is exactly 1 major title between both Med and Zverev. The hardest challenge in tennis in the 21st century has been to beat Fed and Nadal back to back or Djoker and Rafa back to back or any variation thereof. Not known chokers like Med and Zedrot. Talk about exaggerating the prowess of both players.

Assuming we mean HC tournament, then probably since the beginning of 2020. Would've been (Djokovic excepted) Fedal in 2018 and before, Nadal and Med in 2019, but Zverev stepped up again in 2020, and there's no doubt that it's Zverev and Med now. So about 2 years now they've been the people to beat on HC for Djokovic.

Obviously not the greatest 2 opponents you could ask for in the last 20 years, but their results have been far from terrible, especially recently - Medvedev's last few have been a Olympics QF, Canada W, Cincinnati SF, USO W, Paris F. Zverev was Olympics W, Cincinnati W, USO SF, Paris SF. Honestly fantastic results.
