It's happened often that players that are winning good matches before a slam and are thought to be dangerous floaters are losing early in said slams. For example Ruud at RG, made semis of two clay masters, draw opened up on first day (Thiem out) and he lost to Davidovich in 3R. Now 3R is not early and ADF is not a qualifier but you get the pattern. They are losing before they may do damage to a high seed.
Korda: won Parma, lost RG 1R to Pedro Martinez and stayed for 2 weeks at the WATLYNM. These occurrences are well documented in the concierge journal.
Need to see the draws, but I'd rate Berrettini, Zverev, Tsitsipas, and Medvedev all pretty high in reaching the QFs. There will be landmines, for sure. A true dangerous floater right now appears to be Mr. Cilic.

Wimbledon will be interesting for sure. Nadal's absence is sad but after two years without grass court tennis it's anyone's guess who will go deep.
There’s an excellent chance Mr. Red Hot Pepper has already forged his path to seeding so he will float at the 3R stage. I base this on the staggering amount of withdrawals from higher ranked players (Nadal, Goffin, Wawrinka and Coric confirmed OUT; Raonic and Dimitrov still healing and on the fence; Monfils ready to try Eastbourne to test the bod again.
Berrettini just beat ATG Murray, and FAA beat ATG Federer. It stands to reason that they will meet in the Wimbledon final.

Yes, he can be dangerous but he’s not a floater by definition, having earned at worst a top 12 seed. Floaters are those guys that can wind up in the way of a top seed in the first couple of rounds. I’m not even considering Cilic as a floater now with there being an excellent chance he gets on the seeding tree limbs somewhere.

I agree. With Isner fading and and the rest of the young Americans (Fritz, Opelka, Tiafoe, Paul) all seemingly stuck in stasis, I think Korda might be a serious contender for maybe not top 3, but perhaps top 10, in the future. His ceiling and floor are both high.
I remember when the oddsmakers had FAA as like the 4th favorite to win Wimbledon in 2019 after the first round with only like the big 3 ahead of him or something. That was crazy.
