Let's get that Second Slam Dominic:cool::cool:

If not great time for President Medvedev to finally start his term as a GS champ:cool::cool:

If neither win, here's hoping for an epic final between Djokodal, God knows tennis needs epic big matches after the dud 2020.

Nadal vs Djokovic can be a blockbuster final Surpassing Nose vs Inching closer to BOAThood .:cool:

I will also love me a Medvedev vs Djokovic or Thiem vs Nadal final :cool:

Let the Happy slam start

May the best man named Dominic win.

Looking forward to see old man Feliciano Lopez #64 again in action. Does anyone know if he is doing doubles play too?

Australian Open draw delayed but TA ‘absolutely confident’ grand slam will go ahead

The Australian Open will go ahead as scheduled, starting on Monday at Melbourne Park, despite the detection of a Covid-19 case in a hotel quarantine worker at a facility linked to the tennis.

“We’re absolutely confident the Australian Open will go ahead,” Tennis Australia’s chief executive, Craig Tiley, said on Thursday afternoon. “We will be starting on Monday and we have no intention of changing times.”

But players eager to know which side of the draw they are on and the identity of their opening opponents will be kept waiting, with the draw for the year’s first grand slam put back from Thursday to Friday.

Djokovic, Medvedev and Titspas on one half
Nadal, Thiem and Zverev on the other.

Who do you have reaching the final 4?

Predictions for AO 2021 draw?
Draw doesn't matter, my prediction for Sunday: urgent press conference, Tiley announcing "we are very sad, we did everything we can, but unfortunately the tournament must be canceled".

They will have the tournament for sure. Hell may freeze over, but the AO will take place.
GUARANTEED.
Who do have as the winner?

Medfly vs Popsicle Toes 1R is not an easy task for a top 4 without much success at AO.

Tennis_pro vs KAndyman might have zero service breaks.

Not only will Sinner vs Shapovalov be good, but the winner will have the honours to lose to Tomic (assuming Bernie wants to)

Tsitsipas has a manageable path to the semis. Looked quite sharp in both his ATP cup matches.
If he can get to the semis without dropping too many sets and wasting too much energy, Rafa will have his hands full.

They would play in QFs but if you think Tsits looks in form to get there you are overlooking the chances of an equally in form Berrettini in R16.

Yes, I agree. Berrettini is a big obstacle for Tsitsi. But I have a feeling Tsitsi will edge that one in 3/4 close sets. Let's see.

As long as Djokovic and Pospisil are involved with PTPA, will they ever get an easy draw in big tournaments? Probably not if the organizers have anything to do with it and it’s not really ‘random’.

Medvedev is favourite now, yes?

Courts are quick, and Rafa gets no practice, easy banana skin.

I can't believe Novak was given a tough draw for once, and he just had a tough match against Zverev, so it'll be a lot of pressure on the body at 33+.

I personally don't think Novak or Rafa will win this year, since Nole have a troll draw and Rafa doesn't suit quick courts. Plus, Rafa had no matches, he usually needs to build a lot of confidence heading into a tournament, or he lays an egg in the latter rounds, see AO 2019, 17.

If Djokovic gets past the likely Wawrinka, Zverev, Thiem, Medvedev, it would be quite extraordinary. The draw would have to open up and at least 1 or 2 of those players would have to get knocked out for him to win this.

Nadal has zero chance of winning the tournament and a slim to none chance of reaching the final. I think he reaches quarters or semis, depending on his injury (if he even plays).

He didn't lay an egg in 2017.

He did in 2019, though.
