I don't count him out. He's going to beat Medvedev eventually. It's gonna happen. I just hope it's not on Wednesday!

You can be rest assured it won't be this Wednesday.
Medvedev is faster, stronger and flat out better than Rublev.
Rublev needs to put on at least 15-20 lbs more, spend time in the gym and develop a stronger defensive game plus net skills.
At this time Rublev will NOT be competitive with the tier A top guys.

Probably a little of both. I think he's legitimately injured, but probably decided a comeback from an 0-2 hole wasn't in the cards and wasn't worth it.

Why would Tsitsipas-meddy-Djoker be a mountain too high? Rafa has a good chance of beating all of them at any time and certainly now that Djoker is wounded and injured and barely walking, his odds are even better.
