He might not be seriously injured, but he's playing like it. Just hasn't given a crap since that happened. Super lethargic on court.
As I said before, he plays too far behind the court and does a lot of running. Even on ROS. He will usually run out of steam in a longer match or vs a red hot player.
That's the biggest problem for Med - his court positioning.

True. Thiem could challenge Novak because he hits BIG from both wings. That's why he has beaten Novak at slam level on clay and took him to 5 sets at AO.
Titspas also only took Novak to 5 sets, because Novak had a hangover from the Nadal SF also. I don't expect Titspas to win a set vs Novak at UsOpen/AO.

I think djoker let tsitsipas win the first 2 sets on purpose because he knew he could win anytime he wanted, so he made it more of a challenge for himself and to also give more tennis for the fans.

Med & Zed have been in full flight this week and I was really hoping for a high quality final between them firing on all cylinders.

Now watch Tsitsipas win tonight too.

Medvedev is probably the biggest culprit on tour of letting an ultimately inconsequential point in a match turn into a complete meltdown.

Not saying he's not really hurt because I didn't see it, but we've seen the meltdowns before. Thiem last year at the USO was a big one.

Match point Rublev. This is a bad match from Medvedev. Totally lost it mentally. How can he EVER challenge Novak? The World #1 lives for this - feasting on players with declines in mentality.

You are so sure that Medvedev is 100%. Isn't it more likely that the hand is bothering him, he's a little hurt and he LOST his concentration?

Medvedev LOSES. What a complete utter meltdown. Not befitting a world #2.
Can he recover in time for the UsOpen?

It happens roughly once per tournament by my calculations.

Disgusting collapse from Med after the cameragate incident but it is what it is. I don’t think he’s injured at all: he just let that get to his head like in the US Open match against Thiem last year.

Kudos to Rublev for hanging in there and turning the tables on the rivalry. Good to see this kind of result from him since his season hasn’t been all that great since Monte-Carlo.

Think you misunderstood, I'm saying he could be hurt but that I've also seen the meltdowns over one small point result in completely lost sets or matches.

"Funnily" enough I hope it's the latter and he's not actually hurt. Or hurt that bad.

Medvedev seemed fine physically at the beginning of the 3rd but the MTOs and this ending collapse. Weird. The last MTO was for his right forearm and that's not the arm he hit, is it?

I agree. That's why I always say Med's just not strong enough mentally. He will let things bother him or get tired with too much running or just go into his tantrums.
None of these next gens are mentally strong. Same with Titsp and even worse with Zedzilla. It's pathetic really.

Oh well. Best of luck in the final, bweh. Blow whoever is there tomorrow off the court.

Djokovic now guaranteed to stay number 1 beyond the US Open, 341 weeks in the bag.

Especially in Bo5. Next Gen don't seem to realize you're rarely if ever going to have a Bo5 match where everything is going your way.

So far none of them have proven they can handle the adversity of handling a match within a match so to speak.

Except when he is delivering roundhouse kicks to cameras.

That's exactly why I didn't buy these MTOs. It was more tactical IMO. Rublev was not too happy.
