Federer can barely win a point on the Ivashka serve, but his service games are regularly going to deuce and he's having to save multiple break points. Really bad signs for Wimbledon.
True, his return has declined quite a bit. That’s something that has hurt Federer the last 10 years or so. The lack of returns at times.

Goat Rochus with 2 match points against Fred, who wouldn't remember it. lolAnyone remember 2006? A good counterexample
Though less relevant these days of course

I thought it was 4? My memory is failing me.
To be fair he got away with chipping plenty of times, can't blame him. But his reflexes are probably inferior to what they were 10 yrs ago, so even his chip return suffers nowadays.Idk if it was declining early but he used to chip second serves which is terrible instead of hitting those served with authority.
Hmm, you have to react at light speed on Grass, something Federer is a master of. He looks nowhere near that. Hopefully for Federer fans it is rust.If not WB is going to be tough.

Maybe it's a tick? This grass looks pretty healthy.I notice Fed is scratching his left knee at changeovers. He always said his knees feel different after the surgeries. Not necessarily pain but maybe it's still bothering him.

Yeah, that's true. I still think he puts less returns in than before, at least that's my impression. Didn't check the numbers. It's the new racquet that makes his chip/slice a lot worse then the old stick. On the flip side, the new racquet gives him a more stable ground game as he can't move as well now.
Every tourney Fed plays from now to when he calls it quits is gonna be tough for him. Don't think many Fed fans expect much from him though they may be hoping.

Too proud of his neo BH? lolHe's not putting as much returns in this year, especially today. But he's also not using the slice return much today, which is pretty automatic for him. Wonder why.
Was that the year he played Baghdatis in a slam final? LMAOAnyone remember 2006? A good counterexample
