Honestly neither player has been very successful at Indian Wells so it should be interesting, could well come down to mental resilience which makes me want to favor Murray. In any case really hoping for Murray to come through and not just for yet another #ABZ moment
Going to be a good one this

Interesting comment from Zverev when asked about his forthcoming encounter with Murray: "Murray is the only one of the Big 4 I haven't beaten".

So contrary to what many like to argue on here, the term Big 4 is not just an invention of Murray Fanboys.
He was the world number 1, made multiple GS finals, won 3 GS, and two Olympic golds back-to-back, so while the gap between him and Big 3 is quite big he is still the next most decorated player.

Come on, a good match is a good match. Would you seriously think you were short-changed if you had been at the Murray-Alcaraz match?
I would have probably enjoyed it. But Murray and Zverev? Not for me!

I just saw Zverev is playing doubles as well. Is that a good idea? He's going to tire himself out. We all know what happened to Djokovic at the Olympics. Zverev hasn't learned from that mistake.

Desert conditions are extremely dry and tomorrow will be the coolest day of the tournament (15 F lower high temps). It gradually warms but doesn’t reach 90 F again.

Comparison to Tokyo in July is invalid; like asking what a banana and a kiwi have in common.

1) He's a lot younger than Djokovic
2) He has a 44-12 win/loss record in 2021, while Djokovic has a 44-6 record.

Not to mention the mental aspect of going for the GS.

Zed vs Muzz on Tuesday’s day session will be third match on Stadium 1, following two WTA matches. The women start at 1100 PDT so expected start time is 1400 to 1600 PDT.

Just saying…if 100mph serving Jetson Astroby can manage to swipe a set from Zedraffe then Muzz has more than a Lloyd Christmas chance FTW.

Change in weather to much cooler conditions will take away some of the Zedraffe ball speed peril.

Moreover, the difference in ages between the two.

McEnroe and Edberg were both ranked #1 in singles and both still played 50+ doubles matches a year for many years. Doubles doesn't tire out anyone unless they're asthmatics in their 70's.

This favors Muzz.

No one seems clear on the out come of this match. It would be supposed Muzz has no chance at all.
However at the very same time no one would be surprised if he won.

Anything could happen.

With a very heavy heart though, I say, Zod in 2, 63 62.

Please Muzziah send a miracle and prove me wrong !

Murray blinks first. First DF of the match.

question for those watching: Over/under 10 doubles combined between the two players?

Over seems to be a lock right?

I think it's because the data clearly shows Zverev has been much better on hard courts this year, going by his serve and return points won. Yet they also see Murray's improved level and these next gen are a bunch of mugs.

Zverev has been in every Murray service game so far! Now that he’s got the break back this could get messy quickly for Murray

I don’t think Murray really has anything for Zed if he’s gonna hit his FH and passing shots like that. Monstrous, he hit that BH winner faster than he hits his 2nd serves lol.

of course Zverev will likely break himself so no worries. Just back on serve.
