Qualy noob alert.. Is there a place online to see all the pods and a 'mini draw' for each pod? Is each pod pretty much like a tiny three-match tournament where the winner of spot 1 vs. spot 2 plays the winner of spot 3 vs. spot 4 etc? Clearly I never paid much attention to the qualifying rounds!

Edit: found it. Seems like yes, yes, yes. Draws - Roland-Garros - The 2021 Roland-Garros Tournament official site (rolandgarros.com)
There’s a Wiki page for qualies that’s my favorite for legibility. I’m not sure how to easily share the link from my iPhone so I can only share my search technique each slam for both qualies and MD. Just Google 2021 French Open Men’s Singles Qualifications. Tomorrow I will repeat that procedure but omit the last word.

Nice, that is indeed easier to read that the way it's shown on rolandgarros.com

Humbert and Kecmanovic. Not sure which of the two Tom is referring to.
Kec played US based Futures so our paths crossed in FL just a little over 5 years ago.

The other talk about “sub-.500 amateurs” from our mutual “Rosolian” resident pundit is the objectionable content around here. You do a fair job reporting Joe Friday “Just the facts” style without the pejoratives.

In saying my mea culpa if I have misled with the above dialogue, can I offer you a spare “nerd” pocket protector as armor from the slings and arrows headed your way when the stimulants kick in for our mutual “friend” these next couple of weeks?

I don’t take any offense, just recognized my own words lol. And yes, we're in for an insufferable two weeks. I came really close to leaving this board over the constant negativity, but the good folks on this board keep me here.

Brooksby trying to qualify for the main draw, can this college player make it into the main draw ??
He won a clay-court Challenger (green clay iirc) earlier this year, so he appears to potentially be able to handle all surfaces.

That’s why I’m back after that February vacation. There’s a cadre of decent and knowledgeable fans of the sport that usually keep me sane.

Could be repeat of the last year Nadal v Djokovic , Dojo is concerned about his ranking and is the 2nd best on clay when he shows up... Grass and HC No 1, obviously.

Cheers
3Fees :)

If Nadal and Djokovic are drawn to meet in the SF then its 29-29 H2H.
Will be a disaster if Nadal and Djokovic are drawn to meet in the Final because Thiem or Tsitsipas could get in the way of Djok.

Djokovic didn't look as good as Nadal at the 2018 Wimbledon SF, and the roof was closed!
And Djokovic didn't look as good as Federer at the 2019 Wimbledon Final.
Good chance he'll lose this year if he has to play Nadal at Wimbledon.
Not sure if Federer will be ready, but probably.

And Nadal has won 2 of the last 3 US Opens before covid, and Nadal has won the last 2 Canada Masters, and Nadal beat Tsitsipas at 2019 and 2020 World Tour Finals.
Djokovic is only the best AO player, not the best on hardcourt overall.

Seriously, when will you get tired of your trolling? Nadal's form is anything but convincing. In both Barcelona and Rome he had to save matchpoints, and was saved by flukes on big points. Just a bit less luck, and he wouldn't have won any titles this year. He might easily lose in RG.

Carlos Taberner is the first to advance to MD and he has lost a total of 6 games in destroying Klizan, Fabbiano and now Menezes. Today he brought that average down to two games per match with the baguette and bagel baking session.

Apparently the ab strain that forced his retirement in his last match at the Oerias Challenger last week.

That was a Q2 match. Him and Varillas, for whatever reason, didn't play their matches yesterday.
Odd, indeed, that it’s just one pod that didn’t finish 2R yesterday. Will Cerundolo and Laaksonen (beat Varillas in 3) double up and play today so the qualifiers get assigned to their MD slots?

I think quite a few aren't being played today, senior Cerundolo, Alcaraz, Brooksby, Mackie McDonald...

Any draw will do, as long as Djokovic gets an easy path to Nadal........finally we tie the H2H!
I never valued the H2H when Nadal led Djokovic........but after Djokovic took the lead it started bothering me when I had to see that H2H in the intro of every match they play....

Yup, there are eight Q3 matches scheduled for tomorrow:

(I know this is the women's QF but you know .... )

I was just watching Zvonareva against Schmiedlova (third round QF) and Zvonareva was up 6-2 5-1. I was watching Eurosport in the background, and I didn't bother to watch anymore. Checked back and lo and behold, Schmiedlova turned it around, winning 2-6 7-5 6-3. Zvonareva was even up a break in the third.
