4 years ago we thought his best surface was grass, then we thought it was hard and now it’s clay. He has potential to be a varied player.

Can't really gauge someone's level when they're playing Nishkori who hasn't done anything in years. The only way to properly to look at someone's form or level are the late rounds against the top players

The problem with Zverev is he can look unbeatable agaisnt weak opposition, being ruthless, serving like Sampras, peppering his BH.

But when he face tough opposition with weapons who can pressure him (the Big 3, Medvedev), he retreat into his shell and start to serve poorly and pushing like no tomorrow or ballbashing.

Against Nadal at Rome, he had an awful start and wasted any opportunities he had.

Uh no. Nishikori won't win, he has no weapons except Zverev's double faults which he can not control, so lost
I have noticed as night goes on the court slows down massively. That will affect Z
I think djokovic in final won't find it easy with either Zverev/Tsitsipas but Tsitsipas single handed backhand might be exploited in the final a lot and may breakdown but with Zverev match could be on his racquet if he is serving well and dictating play like he does when firing on full cylinders
If Zverev plays like he is tonight cannot see anyone stopping him. Where is the weakness? FH looks a weapon! 2nd serve spits up viciously

He did beat Nadal in Madrid though. He can deliver against the best if things click. Medvedev / Zverev H2H is also pretty even

I have seen many say Medvedev game similar to djokovic but it's Zverev who reminds me of djokovic when he is playing like this as djokovic isn't just a baseline pusher but quite a good offensive player when in full flow similar with Zverev but Zverev needs to be consistent in implementing this gamestyle

Would have love to see him against thiem here but he crashed out early. He has played nobody up to this point. His next opponent isn’t exactly great either. This RG has been a snooze fest. You haven’t seen many great matches.

So 1 match could salvage the tournament (Nadal-Djokovic) unless one of the Italians springs a surprise party.

Sadly the best match was GrandpaERER last night. Yea it is a snoozefest right now. Sems/Finals things may pick up a bit. Maybe

The problem is grand slams! We have seen a bunch of these guys beat novak and nadal but do it when it counts!

Of course, that's what we're all waiting to see - he'll probably get there at some point but it's happening quite a few years after we originally thought it would happen.

Only Federer-Koepfer was fun for the total mediocrity of the match.

The thing i worry about zverev is his height. I am very surprised at how he moves for a guy that’s 6’6. There’s usually players that expose these big tall players.

His reach is a major reason as don't think he moves like a djokovic but a solid mover with his height enables him to retrieve basically anything

They’re fortunate that rafa and novak are getting much older. I do worry about the state of the game when those guys leave.

Nishi is just winning 42 percent of his first serves lol. He’s actually winning more points on his second serve. That’s bizarre.

I never realized that Kei's solitary win over Zed was a comeback from a set down in MC 3 years ago.

Zed owns this match-up overall and if he wins here, 3 of his 5 wins over Kei will have come this year alone.

It will be interesting to see how zverev does at wimbledon. He’s pretty much an unknown there considering his results haven’t been stellar and i wonder about his movement on grass.

I knew Zverev would take it in 3. This match was promising in the beginning than became boring quickly.

If this is the best Nishikori's got, then a top 5 players from 5 years ago is no match for a top 5 player now, meaning the game is deeper now than it used to be.
