The pair's first ever meeting at a slam. H2H is 2-0 in favor of Tsitsipas. Their only meeting on clay was at the 2018 Barcelona Open with the Greek winning in straights. Who wins?

I just don’t think Busta has the shots to trouble Tsitsipas’ weaknesses in the BH and force him out of his comfort zone. Tsitsipas will have to be strong in his service games, if not I could see Busta surprising him and leading early. Eventually though Tsitsipas in a close 4 sets.

Carreno Busta is very consistent in reaching second weeks of slams of late. But Tsitsipas is very good. Tsitsipas in 3.

Impressive stuff from Titspas so far. I see him getting through in straights here.
I think that he will be the favorite vs everyone except Novak and Nadal.

Picking Tsitsipas to win in 4. PCB is a tough opponent but philosopher will come through. The win against Isner really tested him and PCB has been cruising through the early rounds which may be a factor.

Tsitsipas in 3. I think he will improve his game, and take a note from what happen against Isner. Don't see him having another break start. And once he is going, he only level up his game.
I would have favored him to win the tournament if he was in the other part of the scheme actually. I think he would have had a way better chance at beating both Nadal/Djokovic earlier, not in the final tho.
For the finals i think he will need like 1 more year. I just don't see the Big 2(let's be real Fed is very far from that level atm), handle a better version of Tsitsipas, and the guy improved big time every single year. He put tremendous amount of work on the pre-season, and you really have that extra time to work on the small details, and to see what goes wrong and how to improve it. Unless injury happen i see Tsitsipas winning RG in 2 year time from now. Probably won't be this year, unless he up his game and take his chances, but i think in 2 year time he will be an absolutely force, and also the big 2 will be declined big time.

Not that I dislike Carreno Busta but he's the new Ferrer that beats upcoming players just to bend over against Nadal and Djokovic.

I just want a Tsitsipas win in 3 or 4 sets.

PCB is the type of player who can catch out some very good players if they lose focus for a set/match. If Stef can keep his focus and intensity up for the whole match he can win in straights, but a lapse in concentration could see Pablo stealing a set.

Time violation on Tsitsipas, even tho he is serving very fast between the points. But his clock is started STRAIGHT away after the point is ended.
Yet this garbage umpires are giving Nadal 13-14-15+ secs. after the point is over to start his time clock.
This is such a double standard it's absolutely unreal.
You see why now i'm complaining about this cheater in the sport?
The rules should be equal for EVERYWHERE !!!
Still Tsitsipas will destroy Busta !!!

Nice job from Tsitsipas keeping his head(and his service) here. It was dangerous for a bit as CB had two break points after some great returns in Stefanos' second serve.

Tsitsipas would be worse opponent in final for Djokovic. The warmer conditions massively favour tsitisipas and given Rome if that is the final Tsitispas likely wins.
For Djokovic fans Tsitisipas needs knocking out. Zverev is the guy you lot would want. Tsitsipas and Medvedev would be big hurdles.

Tell me when any of these Next Gen beat one of the big 3 in the final?

meh he faces novak or nadal i don’t like his chances. They always look like that.
He will beat Djokovic looking at weather forecast. Rome was raining and damp clay and it was close. If Sunday is hot as predicted tsitispas should win in 4 sets on basis of what we saw in Rome

Yeah ok. None of these Next Gen Mugs have beaten one of the big 3 in a final.

I agree. I even think if by some miracle Djokovic knocks out Nadal in semis he’s still no lock to win it. As no player has ever beat Nadal then won RG. It’s a curse not yet broken. Nadal is RG, he rarely ever loses and even if he does that player cannot win the event ala Soderling and Djokovic. Djokovic is trying to crack 2 impossible codes here haha

No doubt if Novak somehow came through he’d be physically tired because he’d probably need 5 sets. Tsitsipas could certainly take advantage of that and his game on clay matches up decent against Djokovic. Whereas if Nadal comes through no chance for Tsitsipas with the 1 handed BH thing and Rafa just won’t lose a RG final.

Tsitsipas will be hoping Djokovic gets to final instead of nadal no doubt. Djoko would start favourite due to his record but only a marginal one and Tsitsipas recent clay meetings with Novak has been very close so he’d be confident
