I don't think they are excuses, i mean playing more than 4 and a half hours in a day and then having to play the next day is a big disadvantage without a doubt. Personally, i think nadal would win even without this schedule.
Yeah this is true. I'm happy to take the advantage though. Djokovic is the luckiest player in history, it's about time the universe tries to give us something to balance it lol

I don't have much hope tbh. His serves still worry me a lot while Djokovic is back to his 2011 return form.
Yeah, Nadal's serve is totally off, almost as bad as in 2018. He somehow needs to fix it before RG, otherwise he is in big trouble. Also, his backhand is not as sharp as it used to be.

Another clay match Djokovic coming to play against Nadal with nothing left in the tank and no realistic chance to win. He really needs to learn to pick his fights. Nadal would never allow himself to get a beatdown on his major opponent’s favorite surface unless it is inevitable..
Ye, Nadal would have given walkover against Sonego, like he did against Shapo at Paris 2019.

Btw guys Charlotte Flair going for her 14th title tonight ;)

I've always loved Italy. You could also visit Belgrade while you're at it.
Yes it was really "green" a lot of trees and nature, more people walked and rode bikes and were fit. I hardly saw anyone out of shape lol. Had a real pizza, went to Gardaland (one of the theme parks there). Just loved it. Serbia would be cool too.

So, I leave TTW for a few months, when nothing of import happened, and the first post I open is "Nadal's serve not looking good, will lose." Do you never get tired of this reverse jinxing, *********s?
Nope, the king of clay not looking good on clay?
even if it is Rome where he has not done so great as at FO?

I have to say I think Djokovic is right and I’m wrong. I feel playing clay will probably be needed to keep up his intensity throughout the year. These guys do need matches to stay sharp.

Whether he wins today or RG is very tough to see but it’s necessary he tries to keep his momentum and rhythm up for Wimbledon and rest of year.

I can see why he’s doing it as he still arguable 2nd or at worse 3rd RG favourite. All I hope though is he doesn’t get an unnecessary injury or burn himself out for rest of year and also the french and Wimbledon are played closer too.

Novak has shown me this week maybe he’s not completely spend on clay like I thought and the last 2 wins very impressive from him. I think it’s probably a step to far today but Novak’s fight and level on clay this week been good.

I think Rafa will win today but still a great week for Novak and I think he will give a fight here regardless.

It's not reverse jinxing but reality. His serve has been off since last year's ATP Final, no doubt. A difficult match for him is expected.

I think Novak will give a fight and maybe cause Rafa problems on serve a bit. However, Novak struggles more to hold serve against Rafa on clay.

There will be breaks of serve in this match but I think Rafa gets more of them in the end. I’m just happy with Novak’s level and fight this week. Rafa is playing well and the rightful favourite here on this surface.

Still Novak does have a better chance here than RG against Rafa but still I think Rafa will have to much for him today. It’s a shame Novak had to play 2 long matches yesterday. He needs a longer rest for a final like this but is what it is.

When they last met at RG 2020 Djokovic's serve was far worse than it was yesterday. I don't think Djokovic will be broken more than Nadal who will have trouble holding his serve and breaking his opponent at the same time.

Don't eat any bakery products Novak lol...

It's on Nadal's racket and it depends on which one shows up. The crappy one we occasionally saw earlier in the clay season, even against Shapovalov earlier this week, Djokovic could definitely threaten that guy. Otherwise it is going to be very difficult.
Sadly there's about as much chance of that version showing up as there is of me flying to the moon tomorrow. From 2017 onwards Nadal smells blood whenever he sees Djokovic on a clay court.

So does this match start early now or do we still have to wait more than an hour because Djokodal never expected the other final to end this quickly?

Lol, no. Nadal has big mental problems against Djokovic, which is the reason why he choked the second set in Rome 2019. Djokovic might win today. But what really matters is RG. Don't see who can realistically beat Djokovic there.

Serve and net game will be Nadal's biggest weaknesses today. Djokovic can exploit them by putting a lot of dropshots.
Djoker has developed a superb dropshot and he disguises them well.

The problem is that the dropshot has to be literally perfect in order to bother Rafa. Though his speed has declined, the dropshot strategy against Nadal on clay has never worked. He successfully retrieves almost all of them. Notice Djoker doesn’t try that many against him because he knows it’s a losing strategy.

Not sure why you feel the need to jinx so hard. Most people in the tennis community would be genuinely surprised if Djokovic wins today. And they'd be stunned if he goes on to win the French.

Nadal might easily lose this one. What matters is RG anyway. And after the choke from Tsitsipas I'm absolutely sure Djokovic is a lock for the title there. If these mugs can't even finish him in BO3, then forget about anyone beating him in BO5.
Nadal might easily lose his fight to get toothpaste on his toothbrush according to you.

It's not jinx. The current situation in the tour is just sad. Tsitsipas is supposed to beat Djokovic on clay, but he choked like crazy. If he can't finish Djokovic in BO3, then forget about BO5. No player in the current tour is able to win 3 sets against Djokovic in one match. So he wins RG (and the other slams) by default.

Seriously, I'd be happy if Djokovic gets out of this match without been given bakery products.

Take the moral victory! :)

Many thought like that in Rome 2011 as well. Yes, Djokovic was much younger then, but so was Nadal.

Anyway, I was talking about RG, this is what matters.

6th meeting in the Rome final for Rafa and Novak. Their maiden meeting in the final here took place 12 long years ago!

The stats break at 3-2 for Rafa which would indicate that it's not exactly a foregone conclusion to pick the outcome!!

Given the circumstances, it sadly is.
