But then, just when it feels inevitable, Med having nothing to lose starts playing like a possessed man, he takes the 3rd, then the 4th and keep mounting pressure until Djokovic crumble physically and mentally in the fifth. Med claims the US Open title making the greatest comeback ever in tennis history.

Yes it is what I said all along. Zverev is a bigger threat to Djokovic than Medvedev. Although I have no doubt if Zverev and Medvedev played in the final, Medvedev would have won. Very much a rock-paper-scissors situation.

I think the match could turn on Med’s 2nd serves. In Cincy 2019 Novak was eating his 2nd serves up and so Med just hit two 1st serves and it turned the dynamic of the March on its head.

Can Medvedev be that clutch again when he needs to in a GS final? I doubt it, Novak in 5.

Medvedev is serving at an amazing level. Medvedev is going to win on Sunday.

He’s going to try to wear the 34 year old down, and he’s as fresh as you can possibly be having only dropped 1 set and had 2 days rest before the SF. Med is a mental midget pusher with court positioning issues and other weaknesses that Novak can drive a truck through, just like Zod.

We disagree. Djokovic wasn't truly challenged until tonight and played a five set match. He still has lost SIX sets during his first six matches this year, has been broken far more than Medvedev. Medvedev is ready and is playing better than Djokovic.

Medvedev has had an easy draw he won’t be ready for Novak’s level. Today Felix was outplaying him in the second and a qualifier took a set off him in the quarter finals. He’s definitely beatable

Granted I have only watched his semis, but that was like about 50% of his AO level. At AO except one unnecessary 5 setter he was absolutely thumping everybody.

His legs weren't even really tested in the 5th. There were a few long points but most of the difference was Novak upping the ante - especially FH DTL - and Zod mentally collapsing, instead of going with him. There was a brief Zod resurgence in the 3rd and 2nd last games but the 5th was a time-vampire joke really.
