True. If Diego quickly breaks in the 5th, I think he would have had it. But he started flat & never really recovered. And VdZ level didn’t drop.
I obv wanted him to win but knowing he had Med next makes it easier to accept. Diego is my 3rd fav but I want Med to win it all.

Congrats to Botic van de Zandschulp, he really surprised me with his high level of play. He won't get past Medvedev in the next round though but this is a big breakthrough for the Dutchman - he is this year's Aslan Karatsev.

Just checking the news. Match suspended when the score was 0-0 after playing 5 minutes. The problem was that Argies playing in the English Premier League were not authorized to play, and a group of officials from a local Brazilian institution (Sanidad) invaded the field to take those players out of the match because those Argies should have been quarantined for 14 days according to covid norms… Outrageous, unbelievable, a big scandal. Even the Brazilians wanted to play. Shameful.

I have the feeling Gojo is going to win - I don't care about him, I care about Carlos and this is so disheartening. I know Carlos can still come back and win the next two sets but after what happened earlier with Diego's match I just don't have the strength to go through another disappointment. Carlos is young and I knew that it was going to be a rollercoaster match and Gojo being more experienced would help him ): So depressing ):

Zverev is up first tomorrow and Djokovic-Brooksby is the night match. Glad of this as I have something I am doing tomorrow night. I will get to see Zverev, Berrettini and Harris in their matches!
