Backhand into the net to end it all, how fitting
One last brick on a 2nd serve to close it out.
Lol spot on!Berrettini continues the time honored tradition of taking a set off of Novak, getting my hopes up, then fading back to normality.
So it looks like the typical Djoko-Berrettini match so far. Tight first set going the way of the Italian, expect a beatdown in the second followed by a close third won by Djoker and something in between sets 2 and 3 for the fourth
Don’t be so hatred...yeah I’m good man. In 2019 had Zedrot not lost to Shortsman RAFA would have played the exact same last 3 players as Joker most likely will. Just switch Zedrot and Berry in the QF-SF matches and it’s a mirror image. You should look why waits Novak after Ber... Don't be so hatred man... Novak has worst possible draw he could get...
If they just lowered the net three inches, it’d be Berrettini going for the calendar slam. One last brick on a 2nd serve to close it out.
This was a big positive step today. He moved up the gears. Very promising signs. An epic between earths mightiest warrior and goldie Chainz awaits usOne step closer.
A pleasure to witness a master at work!Djokovic triumphs. What’s amazing is that Berrettini hit some first serve bombs that Djokovic returned so deep and with precision placement. It’s just astounding how he does that over and over grinding his opponent down. Roddick wasn’t kidding when he said Djokovic takes your soul.
In his defense, it’s a lot of fun. If you ever need a confidence booster just drop by the local YMCA to dominate old people.Berretteni practices with pickleball nets.
This. He didn't even play well in Wimbledon. If he can beat Zverev, that will be extremely impressive. This is as good as I've seen Djokovic play in a very long time. Never thought I'd be saying that after seeing what he produced in the first set.

I see him as a different flavor Tsonga. Weak backhand that can be surprisingly adequate when he’s on and poor movement too but a serve/forehand combo that can fill up a hot shot reel.If Berrettini wins a major in the future with that backhand, I'm fracking going to stop watching tennis
Incorrect analysis.Pretty sure people would have stuck around if it was Fedal
Wimbledon was great. The first two Slams were shaky though.This. He didn't even play well in Wimbledon. If he can beat Zverev, that will be extremely impressive.
One step closer.
Novak looked better than Zverev today, but the nerves might get to him.

Think it will be close. Both playing well and have high confidence. They both have pressure for different reasons. Should be a fun one.

Well done.
Berrettini high fiving the fans on his way out![]()
Now onto Saturday. Ronnie time
He had to know if he got broken early in the 2nd, he’d be in big trouble. And yet he did absolutely nothing to try to change that.Berrettini at the peak age of 25 has lost 3 consecutive slam matches to a player 9 years his senior...with none of the matches going to 5 sets. He should fire his entire coaching team effective immediately.
I don’t know who the real Tsonga was. He could go from a brilliant volleyer who could rally with top players one week to a player who couldn’t put two backhands in the court and was allergic to the forecourt the nextTsonga's backhand was significantly better than Berrettini's and so was his movement.....Berrettini hits some big forehands but what's the point if the forehand and serve breakdown when you need it the most under pressure
I will be the single reason that he wins. Boarding the flight in 24 hours.@TripleATeam, you better bring it in the next round.
There is no shame in losing to the GOAT.Berrettini at the peak age of 25 has lost 3 consecutive slam matches to a player 9 years his senior...with none of the matches going to 5 sets. He should fire his entire coaching team effective immediately.
