Taking Harris in 4. Seems very composed and confident. Seems a bit of a Fed mentality. Reminds me of a younger Fed. Not game wise of course.

Might have just clicked for him all of the sudden.

Harris in 4. He is UNPLAYABLE right now. Only Novak (and maybe Med) could stand with him.
Zed will maybe get a set. But I wouldn't be surprised with straight sets for Harris as well.

Zverev doesn't have the glaring holes in his game that Opelka has, so once again I think he'll win. Nice to see Harris taking away Opelka's only weapon out there today, though.

Not bold at all. Did you see Opelka was Harris? Look at the match stats. He made the big serve of Opelka look like WTA, and hardly made any errors at all.
Also if Harris hadn't double faulted - he would have won in straights.
Yeah, Lloyd was looking very good, but Zverev's ceiling is unreachable for him.

Based on what exactly? Zed is a mug at slam level. He would lost to Sock, if Sock wasn't injured.
He would be going to 4/5 sets with Sinner - had Sinner NOT missed the sitter volleys and forehands and choked.
Have you seen what Zed has done at slam level all year? In all 3 slams? First close match he plays - he loses.

If Harris doesn't get Zed - Novak will thrash him in straights. But likely Harris will beat Zed - maybe even easily.

Zverev has made his career breakthrough a couple weeks ago. He's just solved his critical issues, he's now a different hardcourt player than used to be before.

OGM in Tokyo and ATP1000 Cincy wins confirm that. Especially that Tokyo SF was awesome: he was a set and a break behind but managed to defeat peak Djokovic. I wouldn't expect any comeback of Zverev's old nightmares in New York.

I know with all the upsets or surprise marathons including some I called myself, but Zverev will demolish this kid easily. Thing is that even if it goes to tiebreaks I just don't see Harris winning them. Shap made a lot of errors and Khachanov is a clown. So why exactly should his chances excite anyone?

  • if my uncle had t1ts, he'd be my aunt
  • if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a streetcar
  • if my grandmother had balls, she'd be my granddad
  • if my sister had balls, she'd be my brother
  • if I had wheels, I'd be a wagon

Harris looks like he'd slept on a park bench for the last 3 months and in desparate need of a proper shower

you do realize that Zverev beat Harris recently at Cincinnati in fairly uneventful two sets, right? while the first set went into tiebreaker there was really no one watching that match that had any doubts as to what the outcome will be. Harris had exactly zero break points in the entire match....

sooo, Harris beating 24th ranked player in 4 sets makes him somehow way better than Zverev who beat 16th ranked player in 3 sets. Got it, solid logic all around.

Based on what I have seen today, I say Zverev in 4. But it it goes to 5, Harris takes it.
Sinner should have won at least 1 set today. He missed too many break points. Clearly Zverev's most unconvincing match since Wimbledon and Harris is (like you say) playing the tournament of his life.

I still think Zverev will raise his level. I watched their match in Cincinnati, Harris only held thanks to his serve in the 1st set. I don't think he even had break point and Zverev broke him twice in the 2nd set. Harris lost his serve twice against Shapopalov and twice against Opelka, and Zverev returns better. I doubt Harris takes more than 1 set.

I think it's Djoko fans that really doesn't want to face the prospect of a Zverev Djokovic Semi Final so they overhype Harris like crazy.

Zverev in 3 or 4 is what most likely will happen.

He’s won masters before but hasn’t stopped him choking around in slams and OG is a great achievement for your country but it’s not a major

ZedDjok can’t be a final…same side of draw means it’s a SF, just like Tokyo. Otherwise, your thoughts are valid.

I think Harris might have better luck in the indoor season, if I'm frank.
Yeah, he does have that skill set that works indoors…or outdoors, like Dubai where he won 7 in a row to make the final from qualifying.

Zed wins though. Too solid right now. In 4 if at night, straight sets if day session. That serve is rocket fueled in the heat.

I am sorry but that was not a peak Djokovic by any stretch of the imagination. He was just exhausted by too many matches (singles/doubles) and the weather conditions (heat/humidity). He could put up for a set and a half and then just crumbled physically. I would discard that match when comparing the two of them.

I <3 the jewelry point/counterpoint between these guys. Zedraffe with the Lawrence Tauread starter kit in gold while Jesus of Cape Town wears the simple thin silver chain with a matching cross.

Zverev is making it in the final. I am still predicting Medvedev will win but I would not be surprised if Zverev wins instead of Med. Fortunately I really like Harris and if he gets the upset it wouldn't be as disappointing as it would be if it were Opelka.

Alleged Abuser/sociopath Vs Better Behaved Tsitsipas. Hope Harris can bring his A Game. It would be good for tennis if someone from Africa wins.
Zverev is a blight on the sport.

Zverev will win this. There’s no way in his current form he doesn’t pass this test. Harris playing well but not at Zverev ceiling level. I said before the tournament that a Djokovic-Zverev is likely to happen and I stick with that.

I am a bit worried about Harris. I like him fine but I want Zverev to win this match. I hope Zverev is less cautious than he was in the last round. Harris served superbly in his match with Opelka, but of course Zverev has been serving great for several months now - the best he has ever played in his career. I really want Zverev to win this match. I think he has a great chance to make it to the final on Sunday - he does have to make it through this match to have any chance at it so I hope he doesn't blow this opportunity. He was the runner-up last year, almost won it, and he wants another chance to try again.

I am thinking Zverev will win in four sets - he will have a mental lapse in the third set but will rebound from it to win the fourth.
