The only thing I worry about with Zverev is that I have been sensing a tentative approach, a bit too cautious. He's playing really well, at a high enough level to win this tournament, but I do wonder about this one issue.

Sure, but I wanna see Harris atleast push him here.
On current form I feel Novak won’t beat Zverev here if he gets by berrettini. Can never write djoker off though but so far goldie Chainz is playing at a higher level than earths mightiest warrior. I hope Novak lifts his game tonight but we will see.

I guess we have to take the same example during the Olympics, Madrid Final, WTF and countless other times that he beat Djokovic or am I just imagining things?
Those are the only times he's beaten Djokovic lol. And he's a different animal in the slams. Choked away the US Open final last year, got tight every time he got a slight lead against Novak in Australia. Looks to be the same here.

And that's why Zverev has no shot of beating Novak. In the tight moments he just doesn't have faith in his game. 79 mph second serve and zero shots past the service box, but Harris can't make him pay. Won't cut it against Djokovic.

He beat him last month in the semi-finals of the Olympics... Yeah, it was a best of 3 or whatever. But what do you say then about Djokovic who had a set and a break lead and managed to lose 8 straight games against Zed...

According to @TennisFan3 , Tsitsipas will win a slam before Medvedev/Zverev xD

Told him one week ago, this might be the slam one of these two will win.

Can't wait for the Medvedev v/s Zverev final on Sunday
I still maintain that prediction. Titspas, I don't even like him, has way more talent than Zverev and Medvedev .
Please feel free to quote this post. I think Titspas will win a slam first and he will win MORE slams than both Med/Zed at the end of their careers.

Zverev needs to win this third set. Let's see if he can get this done.

Not sure if Zverev getting an easy way now is a good thing for him. Would be better for him to test his game, technical and mental, more before coming up against the big threat.

Well "no chance" is obviously an exaggeration. But Novak and Zverev are both entirely different beasts in best-of-3 vs. best-of-5, and in opposite directions. Zverev may have the game to beat Novak here but until I actually see him do it, I'll assume he doesn't have the mentality, because that's what he's showed us at every previous slam.

Zverev has been the best player in the world since Wimbledon, and by some margin.

Djokovic has a lot of catching up to do right now in my eyes.
No doubt about it. In fact I’m quite relaxed because I don’t think Djokovic is beating Zverev right now. I see Djokovic as the underdog if that matches happens on current form.

Someone was saying that Harris level against Opelka could beat anyone except Djokovic xD xD

Comparing **** returner Opelka to ZedGod lmao.

The best performance of this year's USO so far has been Zverev against Ramos Vinolas. That was the most dominant and complete performance of this year's USO.

I think all of our thinking on who would win a theoretic semi between Zverev and Djokovic is based on who we want to see win. For me that would be Zverev. Of course I would prefer for him to play Berrettini, and then I would root for Matteo! (;

I mean, Djokovic is not exactly going to let the CYGS go easily here.

But dropping all those sets in pure mug fashion to Rune, Kei, and Brooksby was really poor. His BH has been MIA. That Brooksby breadstick was pure trash. If it happened to Zverev we'd be all over him calling him a choking mug.

And that Zverev match in the Olympics was not even Sascha zoning. He just played within himself and Djokovic couldn't do a thing in the 3rd set. We shall see, but I honestly favor Zverev right now.

Zverev 85 % first serve in. Fricking spectacular machine. @TennisFan3 can also relax. The CYGS is safe. Nobody beating THIS Zverev in this tournament. ;)
Not convinced by Zverev still. Novak can easily beat him IMO. If Harris did not have such a choke job, he would have won 1st set 6-3 and broken in the 2nd set.
Zverev's level is nothing special to be honest. Same forehand issues and slow second serves.

If Berretini couldn't get the job done vs Djokovic at Rolland Garros and Wimbledon, he's definitely not going to do it at a surface where he's arguably worse.

If Djoko makes the semi, Zverev/Djoko will be the real final just like it was at the AO. IMO, Zverev is currently the most challenging opponent for Novak on hard court.

Harris is still rattled after the screen incident. Disappointing.

Yet another player outside top 10 for Zverev to cross off his slam list :D
That awful call by the ump cost him the second set bc it clearly affected him in the game he got broken (2nd game in the 2nd set).

Harris played very well against Opelka and it's not like he didn't have his chances today. The problem is people set very high expectations on players that haven't proved themselves on these stages of Grand Slams based on one or two performances, but these guys are not used to doing it consistently on high stake matches.

There's a reason why the underdog usually loses.

As a Zverev fan, I'd feel more confident against Djokovic than Berrettini. All the pressure would be on Zverev if he were to play against Berrettini. On the other hand, Djoker has more to lose against Zverev (CYGS, 21st slam...).

You missed my point - I would like for Berrettini to be the other semi-finalist, because I like him more than either Zverev or Djokovic, that is all.

He did play very well but even if he played his best this Zed beats him

That's interesting because I honestly think Medvedev is going to win the USO this year - we will find out on Sunday!

I missed it. What exactly did he say?
Delpo's ESPN interview: Delpo said he REGRETS not being fit to play. He said the next gen are very good and powerful, AGGRESSIVE but they don't play SMART tennis. HE said they make too many errors and don't hit the right ball. He said Next Gen needs to have more SHOT TOLERANCE be able to play shrewdly. Per Delpo, Novak wins because he can wary his Game plan, play smartly and hang in there to weather the storm. Delpo says Next gen have no Plan B and that is why Novak always wins as he is steadier. Delpo wished he could still play, as he would have liked his chances to cause damage.

Didn't want to take the over because I thought it could end like this. Thought +7.5 games for Lloyd was gonna be a safer play. Turns out it wasn't.

I love that we still have these Zverev slam memes. First it was no quarterfinal, then no semi, now no top 10 win (which is honestly the most shocking of all of them).

Wonder what gems he'll give us in the future.
