Nice guy Djokovic giving Rune a game.
I don't think "playing through cramps" can cause any lasting damage though, right? So why not stick around and see if it improves.
Bo5 is just perfect for Djokovic.

Danes don’t like Swedes, especially when they come to poach cheap liquor and the babes in the Copenhagen bars. @Mike Bulgakov has all the details for you.Corrected
Novak should be punished for tanking that game.
Novak is incredibly fit. And are we really debating if tennis is more physical today than, say, in Borg’s day?,really? They barely moved back then by today’s standards. Fast surfaces were 95% of 3 shot rallies. And in slow surfaces they mostly pushed the ball. The game isn't more physical than ever if a 34 year old Novak is comfortably outlasting guys who are 22-25. Bringing up Messi who is supported by a team won't change that.

Yeah, looks horribly painful. Sad to see the match end like that, but you know, kind of great to see a young player tough it out and finish the match. A nextnextgen with character, I'll be darned!I wondered the same thing, if the cramping will cause any severe damage... I've gotten charlie horse's in the middle of the night and that hurt like crazy... I cannot even imagine trying to play all out on a court while that's happening to me.
Djoko probably wants to tell the crowd the go *** themselves.

I love it when Novak sticks it to the crowd hahaDjoko probably wants to tell the crowd the go *** themselves.
Can't say I've had the pleasure! The most fun is a whole body cramp lockout where you need the assistance of others to even take a drink. Those were really great times.
Why did crowd boo at the end?
Djoker is tee'd off... Not doing the giving heart thing to the crowd after the win....
He already did so in the 2009 US Open. He's used to it by now.
Afraid that players are gonna get COVID.Why did they stop Djokovic from doing autographs???

Aww geez……thanks for the reply.Afraid that players are gonna get COVID.
Think this is the most realistic and pragmatic response to the crowd debate tonight. Also adding in that they're very likely not sober like I said earlier.I think this one surprised him though. He was clearly ticked off. I think a lot of times, when you're not a huge favorite, the US Open fans also like to see a long match to get their money's worth. Specially if they see an 18 year old. I've been there for Nadal, Federer, and Djoko for easy 3 set wins and it can be a bit of a bummer.

Probably no bagels because of this:
honesty I had a feeling this will happen...he was spending a lot of energy first 2 setsIs Rune drinking at all? It's kind of weird how he's cramping all over.
Not delivering the bagel was condescending.
Most of the Next Gen get winded going from the locker room to the court, let's be honest.
Never seen nor heard of this young man Rune prior to this match. This young gun is going to be feared as he gets a few more years under his belt. If he stays healthy, the tennis world better look out...the future is looking bright for this talented young man.

Good. It spared us from that sham of a gesture politely called a “boob thrust.”Nole said in his presser that it was not the “ideal atmosphere” in the stadium tonight. He also thought when the crowd was chanting “Rune!” Nole thought they were booing. Yeah, he was not pleased with the crowd tonight.
Won’t be that long. The ones just older than him (Sinner and Alcaraz) haven’t needed 3 years to get to #10 and #30 in the Live Race. End of 2023 is very realistic for top 20. He expects it by end of 2022.Rune will be top 20 in 3 years.

Imagine a Djokovic-Tsitsipas final lol
Doesn't matter. Do you really think current Novak would outlast his younger self? He shouldn't be running circles against an entire group of 22-25 year olds.Let's see those 22 and 25 year olds doing this in the offseason.
I don't disagree entirely, just with the more physical than ever part. Current Novak wouldn't outlast his younger self. The Next Gen are just bad.Novak is incredibly fit. the HIIT type of points that today make up most of the highlight reels, and are the main reason tennis is so much more demanding today, didn’t really exist back then
Nah, there is something about Next Gen.Or maybe there is something about Djokovic.
