These courts do not fully suit Nole at all. Bounce is still too lively. Rafa would still like it after the surface change.

He is losing speed and stamina. He will have NOTHING left. He already had 5 sets before he got here. He won't last a couple of more sets at this rate - the amount of running he is doing.
He looks fine right now. 20 y.o., isn't he? Shouldn't be too taxed for a set or two. Plus adrenaline.

The main thing for him now is stay composed and not nerve-wreck his chances

Brooksby is being so consistent, and is not giving much to Djokovic to work with. I am impressed with Djokovic not smashing a racquet yet. His therapist must be proud.

Dude wtf, you wrote that he hasn't been playing well since OG, and I said this is his first tournament since OG your comment makes no sence... And what does it matter how many streaks he has, it is third round od GS, Djokovic is first seed, and he gets Nishikori, name me one harded opponent he could get in that round. But yes, Djokovic doesn't play great at the moment, I can't deny that but he will raise his game when it matters
Obviously you’ve never played competitive sports. I’ve been lucky to be around pros in a couple of different sports and they for the most part like nothing less than an unknown opponent (Brooksby is proving it) and nothing more than someone they have been abusing often and recently. Hence, why Vitas’ quote from pre-meme era still resonates. 3R Kei Gerulaitis 15x in a row was cake.

As to playing or not playing Cincinnati, you were using that as an excuse for his very lackluster play so far. Rule of law allows the opposing counselor to address subjects brought up by their opponent.

I agree he often plays his way into form at slams but this is a long series from 1R to 3R and now tonight. His progression has been fitful in his path through a very soft draw in the first three rounds, He may get that chance to improve. He may not, as Brooksby is showing dogged perseverance.

IMO, he should have played Cincinnati to get the rust off. I can’t remember anybody pulling off a USO title without some warmup on NA HCs. Can you?

I have a feeling there will be no coming back from two sets down this time so Djokovic better win this set. Brooksby can play ball all night.
