Incredible stuff on that hold. Djokovic returned that to Brooksby's shoelaces yet again, amazing he got the +1 shot in.

Uhhh. When Medvedev throws his body into his forehand he can generate more power than Brooksby.

Medvedev can actually serve too.
Sure. But Med's forehand is way less natural than Brooksby. He also stands far back when he hits it. Also hits it much safer in the middle of the court. It's a lot flatter. He can hit a big one, sure, but I'm talking about consistent attack.
Tennis is all about matchups. Meds a 10x better player than Brooksby. But he will NEVER be able to give Novak as much trouble as Brooksby gave in set 1 and part of set 2.
If there is a Final between Novak and Med - you will see. Med will NEVER EVER breadstick Novak. Or dominate Novak off the ground as this kid does.
Different games, different matchups. This match will likely be the toughest for Novak this UsOpen. He matches up well with everyone else left.

Lucky Nole in this form is not facing Zverev earlier
but if he gets through it might be the match that tunes him up
or tires him out vs Matteo. Zvev on the other hand is doing better
by being less of a family man and calm as a cucumber.

Brooksby talking to chair. MTO? Trainer? Bathroom break?

Dude looks like I probably did when I played a pusher in my USTA League a few years ago. Actually, the score is shaping up similarly, too.

He's won 3 out of 8 against Novak. What do you mean, "never"

Zed has a very formidable obstacle next round - called Harris.
To me the HIGHEST Pure Tennis level of the tournament was Set 2, 3, 4 of Harris vs Opelka. Harris was unplayable - reminded me of Pistol Pete almost.
Close 2nd highest level of UsOpen, would be Set 3 by Alcaraz vs Titspas from 2-5 down.

Brooksby should tell his future grandkids that he breadsticked the best player of the tour
in 2 years BrooksB will reach a level that will Bagel many
as his droning is above Mury level with that Santoro slice
just needs Toddy boy that helped his opponent even though
he did not admit that it did.

Opelka can't move or return, that's why Harris looked good

I don't know about that. He was returning 135+ mph serves like it was Candy. And then serving crazy as well. Hitting winners all around. At the net, return points, serve - everything was perfect.
Darren Cahill - on ESPN - said the same thing - that he has never seen anyone dominate Opelka like this. Not even Med in Canada.

Best of 5 matches makes it tougher for Djokovic to be beaten. That’s still the challenge for Zverev or Meddy as we know Novak get stronger as these matches develop. Zverev or Meddy best chances are to get ahead early and put the hammer down. If Novak gets his teeth into those matches and it gets longer than Novak loves that. He’s so physically fit and can still outlast most. Novak will need to raise his game for later rounds. Still we don’t know what level Zverev or Meddy will bring. We know it’s more crucial for them to be at their best than Novak I agree.

Hmmm I thought the upset could happen earlier in the thread, but I underestimate how much stamina Djokovic has compared to everyone else. No one can keep up for an entire best of 5 set match.

Why is he standing in no mans land after hitting the dropshot? Move in or stay on the baseline.

And some of you hyping up his "tennis iq."
