I don't dislike Coco but I don't have to watch her matches yet. I also don't like watching matches in Ashe so maybe her winning today means that she will knock a match I want to watch off of Ashe if she plays on Ashe on Friday.

Kind of disappointed that Konjuh lost to Leylah Fernandez. I was on the Konjuh hype train, thought she'd come racing up to the top thirty. Did anyone here see the match?

No all court coverage here in AU! Surprised too, but Leylah good (Bit dissapointing year so far tho). I want to see Konjuh Naomi, but now just hoping Naomi through.

Why the hold-up in the Mertens match?
I see now. Very strange.
Peterson called for a medical, but it took her trainer more than five minutes to show up!

I know it's in vogue to hate on Osaka but her flat groundstrokes are really quite powerful on HC.

Can turn the rally around with just one shot as easily as anyone on tour. If she can get her serve and mind back to a good level she could easily win this one.

I've never seen Mertens playing so flat like this before.
She's making life very difficult for herself on court.
She should have won this one in her sleep.

What do you think so far? Lots better than Cincy, more confident. But Bouzkova has played good so far!

Peterson over 25 seconds on almost every serve and never got a warning!
And this is with the umpire starting the clock late most of the time!

Bouzkova is no slouch at all. She comes in on her returns which is quite impressive against osaka’s serve. That dynamic movement and forecourt play is really missing from Naomi and I don’t see her getting it back this tournament. However her ball striking and especially BH has not looked bad at all.

Encouraging signs. She clearly is the most talented HC player in the world.

Good thing these women aren't holding up any important matches. :)
I'm very disappointed with Mertens' level of play today.
This is a match no one wants to win. :(

Tiafo getting jacked up with a win over Eubanks is everything that's wrong with Tiafo's makeup. Guy should smoke Eubanks.

Raducanu is down a break but has a chance to take it back the following game with 3 BPs.

Edit: She takes it right back. 2-2 first set.

I rarely mention a player's looks but Raducanu is a stunner. She's half Chinese, half Romanian, born in Canada, and plays for the UK.

After 7 match points, Raducanu gets the win over Voegele. Raducanu still needs a lot of development in her game in terms of having more control over her shots and playing patterns, but she has potential.

Raducanu had a lot of nerves when serving for the match but she was able to close it out 2 & 3. She has not lost a set at the tournament now, including 3 qualifying matches.

Barty gonna serve for it vs Vera. Though she might break first.
