The pressure will be huge imo. With Tsitsipas out, they know they have a golden opportunity to make their 1st slam semifinal. Both players played a high level in yesterday's Night Session (FAA'2 sets 1 and 2, Tiafoe's 5th set) but lots of ups and downs. I foresee another 5 sets, but don't know the winner. So, randomly... Tiafoe in 5.

Rooting hard for Auger-Aliassime. Tiafoe is one of a handful of players on the tour who I simply can't stand, I hated his antics last night - it's a personality thing for me, just don't enjoy watching him play. Auger-Aliassime looks to me to be a 13 year old boy! I like him alright but I can't say he's a particular favorite. Definitely prefer Shapovalov of the Canadian players! I will be rooting for FAA to get to the QF and then lose that match.

I don't particularly care for most of Tiafoe's game, but one thing he does do that I like and adds some excitement to the match is that he's not afraid to come forward. He comes forward a lot and is successful at it enough to throw an interesting quirk to otherwise grindy baseline battles.

He's got pretty good touch for drop volleys but that seems to be all he does up there.

I think what they meant is that to reach the semis the winner would need to face either Alcaraz or Gojowczyk, and therefore it's a golden opportunity

I'm rooting for FAA, but it's about at a 60% strength. I don't really care who advances. I'd like to see FAA get to back to back quarters if only to give him some more self-belief. But if Frances wins, it's no big deal.

Big Foe v/s Medvedev would be the best semi-final that we can hope for in this half. Not nearly as good as the potential Zverev-Djoker semi, but it should at least give Med a better challenge (compared to the other guys left on this side) to prepare himself for the final.

Tiafoe really overplays with the drop volley or the short volley, when a simple volley into the open court would suffice. He's got really good touch, but is a bit too cute for his own liking IMO.

FAA is misfiring a lot in this opening set, plenty of poor errors. A couple of aces in this game though, he holds for 3-4.
