Credit to Berrettini for not allowing this journey to number twenty to be a total walk in the park. Solid showing from him in his first final, taking advantage of several drops in Novak's tennis. He'll have his chances again...

Three currently active streaks of 21: consecutive wins at Slam tournaments this year, consecutive wins at Australian Open, and consecutive wins at Wimbledon.

And after teargate down under, Houdini acts in Paris and routine sh1thousery in London, there is another number 21 to aim for. This CYGS potential just got real. Wow...

I'll leave it to the rest to debate the whole GOAT thing. Me, I'll just repeat what I have thought ever since 2006, when my boy was at zero Slams...

Doesn't he have like the record in masters and in ranked number 1?
Also having won almost all the important tournaments that exist?
How could he be level with Rafa and Roger?
Won all

Nice speeches. Ok match. 6.5/10 due to the first set and the atmosphere.

He will end 2021 as #1 for 7th time.
That's a open era record and all time record if we consider official ranking without co #1s in 1960s or earlier.
This is very significant.

You think it’s significant. For many, there are other things that factor in to greatness. Just saying, debate not over.
Just enjoy him levelling up with Roger and Rafa, it’s a magnificent achievement.

Can you imagine what would be said if Federer had said something like that? We would be hearing about his arrogance till the end of days. If Nadal did it, he would be sarcastically called “humbalito” on this forum among others for the rest of our natural lives, but when Djokovic does it, he’s expressing his confidence and will to win. He will likely do it though. Do we honestly see someone who can beat him at USO?
VULGUR NOVAK,, predicts he will win the Calender grand slam..................... HOW dare you????????????????????????????????

No problem but I just believe 34 year old Federer was better than 34 year old Djokovic that we witness now. Djokovic benefits from the age advantage, it's obvious unless you are a die hard Djokovic fan.

34 year old Novak is clearly superior to 34 year Roger or indeed 34 year old Rafa

This has been the easiest grand slam for him this year.

In Australia there were challenges, the Fritz match, the zverev match.

In FO match, the Nadal match, the tipsy match.
But here was a walk in the park in comparison

Probably not the way it should have happened since the final was a letdown but we're still on track for history to be made.

7 more matches to go for the elusive Calendar Slam.

That 1st set was shaky and he was shaky at times in the 2nd when he was up 2 breaks, but he pulled it together and got it done. He was edgy going for history today but glad he got the win. Onto to NY (I'm not that invested in Tokyo).

Congrats to Nole. The way he came back in sets 2 and 3 after blowing a lead in set 1 was mentally huge.

His lockdown in set 4 showed why he will wind up as the GOAT over Fed, Nadal, Sampras, Laver, etc.
