Djokovic in STRAIGHTS. It won't be as close as the Djokovic-Shapo match.
Berettini backhand is PATHETIC. At least Shapo had some power and could dominate in neutral rallies. Berrettinni would be mauled off the ground by Novak.

If only Novak did not lose a set in R1 - he would have won the slam without losing a set.

Safe to say my stress levels are gonna be pretty damn high from Sunday afternoon onwards.

It’s unreal, I can’t accurately assess Djokovic at all. He plays point after point with questionable intensity and focus and then on BP, we get pure solidity and no misses. Possum after possum for most of the match, and then you blink and he’s won in straight sets.

Berrettini hits so big that Djokovic won’t have as many chances as he did today. Also his 2nd serve is so much better than Shapo’s. But from the baseline he doesn’t have the versatility imo. We shall see. His movement will be tested.

I promise no jokes, but then you can seriously answer this: what on earth does Berrettini have in his game that can bother Novak, much less defeat him? Don't mention the serve, Denis served big today and is a lefty, Novak returned almost everything after the first 20 minutes. How is Berrettini supposed to hold his nerves and have the mentality to defeat Djokovic? You could give him a 7-6, 7-6, 4-1 lead and he would still choke it away.

I like Novak's proficiency on serve and volley today, but the serve was largely mediocre and the baseline game ultra passive once again. I'm starting to think these claims of "raising his level when he needs to" and "conserving energy" is bs. He could be in real trouble Sunday.

Good thing is Berry is not left handed and has a less dynamic backhand.

The two form players in the world at the moment. It will be a great battle. Berra will be tough to break but Novak is the master at working things out as the match progresses.

It helps they played a match at the french so they know each other’s games. I feel it will be close but Novak will find a way to start breaking down the Italians BH.

I say Djoko in 4 sets! However, this is without doubt a tough assignment for djoko so will need to be locked in at all times. I think djoko is on a mission though to get no20 and won’t be denied.

Berra first grand slam final too which of course will have him nervous a bit. Djoko has the pressure to hit no20 slam and 6th Wimbledon too. It will come down to big points and usually it’s Djokovic who prevails in them. Neither winning will surprise me as Berra is in the best form of his life and djoko the man of the moment but think djoko will get over the line.

He still only broke Shapo once in every set, though, and with the help of unforced errors from Shapo. Berrettini's serve is bigger and more consistent, and his backhand won't get exposed too much in his service games if he can hit a lot of first serves in. Also, Berrettini won a set at RG and kept the 4th set tight, too, why wouldn't he be able to do it here on a much faster surface?

I can see nothing but an improved Djokovic in the final. He played horrible today and still came out in straight sets against a lefty power server.
He will re-group and will be better on Sunday.
I expect Matteo to play well as well and sneak a set but that's it.

I like your optimism, but were you impressed with any of his return games? I thought he was solid on 5-5 all Shapo serve 2nd set, but the other ones were Shapo making errors. To me, this was one of his worst return performances ever. His BP % continues to be terrible. He did read Berry's serve well the first two sets at the French but he's gonna have less time to retrieve them Sunday.

you wrong.. Remember the French open... where novak had tremendous advantage due to slow clay courts. but even then, still Berrentini really pushed novak and novak had problems with berrentini serves and big forehand

Because this is the final of Wimbledon, not a QF match. Djokovic will be an absolute wall on Sunday, target his BH and there's nothing B can do about it.

Well, El Shapo served great. Especially in first set. And I think El Shapo distracted Novak with wrong ball throwings. Novak return declined a lot lately. He def. need to be more in focus vs Berrettini on return.

His forehand could trouble him, and I think Berrettini will be mentally stronger than Denis. Of course he is the underdog but I think he has his chances. Also depends on Djokovic's level, I am not that impressed by his performance today apart from his mental game, it could be dangerous if he do not step up significantly

Yeah, I felt he had gotten predictable and passive with the return the last few years. He did a really good job at the French, maybe Australian, at switching it up and being more offensive like in the old days. Unfortunately I'm not seeing it here, even against unremarkable servers.
