Who will win 2021 Wimbledon?

What makes Wimbledon's decision even stranger is that they have shoved the Med match on centre court first thing tomorrow. Why could they simply not have let them finish tonight with roof closed as i suspect it will be raining tomorrow and roof will be closed anyway.

Because they wanted to screw over Medvedev and play him on consecutive days. This is not so hard to understand. It was designed that way from the beginning by not putting him on show courts.

If the reporting/article I read was accurate it turns out we are seeing a very select crowd at Wimbledon this year.

"Play is only allowed to take place at all, weather permitting, with fans present thanks the Government’s Event Research Programme (ERP), whereby tested and masked punters are allowed to come through the famous gates in tens of thousands - albeit that is half their usual number.

When moving around the site, fans are supposed to wear masks to account for the small chance of outdoor transmission, but a brief lap of SW19 will tell you that plenty have either forgotten or not understood that rule. A punnet of expensive strawberries or an even more expensive lager in your hand gains you an exemption nevertheless.

The masks that most people are wearing do little to muffle the hustle and bustle of the Wimbledon masses."

Meddy match first thing tomorrow is fine. The winner needs to wrap it up fast because he need to play the next day.

Why they didn't put on centre court yesterday. They must have reasons, prime among them was That Rogers match could have lasted longer
 
Well it seems that Wimby organisers did their job. I don't think Medvedev will make it to the 1/4.
 
I did say before Wimbledon started that history showed that probably two of top 4 seeds would be out before S/F but in this case we only have one of the top 4 left at Q/F stage and that is Novak.

I tell you what if Novak gets knocked out before final Roger may well be celebrating his 21st GS come Sunday.

We don't have a thread for the 4th QF, lol. Maybe with good reason, Berrettini up an early break and Felix does not look good. Double faults to give Berrettini 15-40.

Could be over very fast.

FAA was never going to be up for this match mentally, I hate to say it
 
I think Felix was doomed from the moment Berry advanced over Ivashka. They are tight friends, even tighter than Felix with Shapo. He’s only gotten two wins in 2021 to throw the Canadian internecine h2h in his favor. Berry is a tougher task to get psyched up for.

Matteo had dropped a level from 5-1 first set, no? Felix will be tough if he doesn’t keep focus.

Felix looks very settled. No discernible amplitudes in his demeanor. I like it.

Yes, and it's easy to reduce Berrettini to just the bombing serves whilst the man has surprisingly soft hands. Great matchup of styles, imo.

I was watching fedr mash things up during this first set and was surprised Matteo opened up that lead. Their Stuttgart’19 final was always in doubt, being played before Felix firmly established his horror show finals trend.
 
Amazingly trivial or amazingly accurate precursor of events to happen?: the last bagel baked by Hobie Cat Hurkacz was in his first match along the way to his very first ATP title at Winston-Salem’19.
