Berrettini is very dangerous this year. Big, strong guy in best shape of his life and his serve is massive on this surface. Very exciting matches in semi-finals and Wimbledon suddenly became very interesting.

In other Forza Italia news, the half-Italian half-Argentine dubs team of veteran Simone Bolelli and Maximo Gonzalez are on a grass tear, having made the SFs here after winning the title in Mallorca the previous tournament. They also won earlier on clay in Parma and Santiago. It’s nice to see a savvy but aging singles guy move to dubs and have some success.

Hurkacz is the 1st Polish player to make the semi-finals of Wimbledon since Janowicz and Radwanska in 2013.

Berrettini is the 1st Italian player to make the semi-finals of Wimbledon in the Open Era.

Shapovalov is the 1st Canadian player to make the semi-finals of Wimbledon since Raonic in 2016.

Bolelli was a real talent, but never had the fortitude to be a winning player on the top tour. Unsurprisingly, like many with that same problem, he has found some doubles success in "old age" despite his technical and physical abilities having obviously declined.

(PS this isn't entirely surprising. He is a doubles GS champion after all)

Yes, Foglelli wax a powerful team for the 2015 season, winning AO over Mahut/Herbert and making 3 M1K finals.

If you wanna see his game up close I thought this UTS stuff last year gave excellent courtside footage, check his highs here

Very nice camera angles!

Weird scoring system but exciting.

I’m guessing South of France with the Mouratoglou court paint job ? Apparently this was payback for Citypass edging Berry in a mirror image previous round.

Concerned for Berry if he’s choosing Red Bull as his fluid replacement drink mid-match, could explain his shortness of breath…that stuff is dangerous!

So no Italian has made the SF before? I'm surprised. The Italians have a great future ahead of them now though....stocked with talent.

Just looking back at the vote poll on this thread. Wouldn't it be amazing if Hurkacz won?? No one picked him. That would be a kicker. Long shot, but earth shattering. :p

just heard on ESPN, Matteo will be first ever finalist never to have serve and volleyed once in the tournament

Hewitt had one going into his final
