In previous years, this would be an easy straight set victory for Murray, but these days he seems unable to move properly after the hip surgery. Murray a wild card ranked 118, Otte a qualifier ranked 151. Murray won his last match in 4 sets and Otte won his in 5 sets which went to a 12-12 tiebreak in the 5th set. This will be their first meeting.

Who will win? Poll included.

I think he'll have issues closing it out like in the 1R, but Murray in 4 for me. I don't think Otte has what it takes

This could be a pretty interesting matchup, scheduled for Centre Court, third match on Wednesday.

Otte is punching above his weight category this year, qualifying at both RG and Wimby in six straight set wins. He’s also the guy who scared Zedraffe by redlining for two sets in their 1R RG match before collapsing badly. He’s now 1-1 in 5-set slam matches. He’s also played fedr at RG’19 so the occasion will probably not bother him as badly as a pure newbie to slams.

At 6’4, Otte can cover some court and had some success at net in 1R despite a 1st serve averaging only 115mph (24 aces so he hits his spots).

Otte will now play three days in a row but today’s work was just six games and a TB, basically a substitute for a practice session.

If The Muzziah rebounds in form after the needlessly long match vs Basil Fawlty, I say Muzziah in 4.

Normally would say Murray in 3 but he isn’t the player he was Otta has nothing to lose if he isn’t overwhelmed I take him to win this in 4

Murray should win this one. A qualifier that went 13-12 in the 5th (ie played effectively 6 sets) should be a simple affair. Bionic hip in 4.

After seeing him move around and defend superbly against Bash&bashvili, on a slippery court that later injured two players with no metal in their joints...I'm not convinced he "can't move anymore"

The guy's won here twice. He knows what he's doing. If body holds up and draw breaks favorably he can go on a run.

Will his body really hold up though? He looked like he couldn't move properly at the end of the last match.

I agree. I was slightly frustrated by the slice and slow it down tactics by Murray yesterday but, having seen Djokovic fall several times, he knew the court was greasy so employed the correct tactics to prevent himself from falling. If he plays on a court which has seen a full day's play with no rain interruptions, it'll dry out quickly so Murray's movement will be better.

Slice and slow it down was needed vs Basil Fawlty, who feasts on pace. As savvy as Sir Anduh is, he will figure out what works and what doesn’t vs the unknown Otte. If it’s pace he has it on 1st serves and the plus one.

I’m mostly concerned about his recovery. He was a different fellow in his second match at Queen’s and he didn’t play four sets in his first match there, just a Paire of them.

The Hour of Resurrection has arrived!

Long live The Muzziah! Now let’s go and kick some haggis!
