Bionic Poster
Commentators showing and talking about how crucial that first point of the final game was by Barty. That huge leap in the air to get to that ball and get the point. Incredible stuff.
Here’s where you belong…on my ignore list. I’m tired of your whine. Bye now!Ok Stringer, if that's what you want to argue then go ahead. Would love to see you do and post more for the women's tour on here against the constant sexist vitriol me and others have to put up with but i'm so glad you're here for one sentence. Hope you pop up when people tell me how women belong in the kitchen or on their knees or are relying on the men to get them by. Keep fighting the good fight.
Todd Woodbridge just popped the champagne with Groth and Dokic in the channel 9 commentary. You love to see it![]()

Will there be one with Covid and everything?!Novak and Ash will make an odd couple at the Wimbledon Ball.

In darcy's defense, this is an incredibly challenging forum for fans of women's tennis.
And Barty does follow Muguruza and Halep's suit. Win RG, not do so well the next time playing RG and then win Wimbledon.Muguruza won the French Open in 2016, lost in the 4R as the defending champ in 2017 but then went to on to win Wimbledon
Ostapenko won the French Open in 2017, lost in the 1R in 2018 but went to make the Wimbledon SF.
Halep won the French Open in 2018, lost in the QF in 2019 but went on to win Wimbledon
Barty won the French Open in 2019, lost in the 2R in 2021 (no tournament in 2020) but goes on to ______?
Strange stat, RG champs can't back it up the following year but go on to win Wimbledon or in Ostapenko's case, go very deep.

It must be to cause someone to insult another poster and then not offer an apology to all of us that haven’t been engaged in the derogatory behavior. If you think it’s OK to tell someone to eat a d1ck on a public forum and not have a casual observer of the exchange be offended then I don’t have a thing in common with you either…plain and simple the way to defuse tensions is to be polite to each other and turn the fuqing cheek. Darcy doesn’t believe that way though, still defiant that it’s OK to be a savage, P1ss on that type of behavior, no matter the background to him being on edge.In darcy's defense, this is an incredibly challenging forum for fans of women's tennis.

On the left she looks like a 20ft woman holding a normal size trophyBarty looks like she's barely aged in the 10 years between junior and ladies titles:

Seems you have really over-responded to my couple of words. If you'd like to discuss this in private than lets DM but your over the top response is just a bit much. The person I actually said it too has tried to step in and yet here you are, after all the Aussie threads and support pages we've gone through. His take is hardly controversial either. Drama is just a euphemism for low quality on TTW anyway. I like both players and approached the match looking forward to the contest but was disappointed by the slew of errors from both players. And these were not errors coming out of enterprising play, just nerves. There is nothing sexist about it but ofc resident SJW is deeply offended. I had much lower expectations of Krejcikova v/s Pavlyuchenkova at the RG final and that turned out to be a much better match than this, much more worthy of a slam final. Oh well, at least it wasn't a trainwreck like 2013/14.I don’t like his take either but really? Do you have to go in the gutter with the insult back?
this is just an example of the battlefield TTW has become.
SHE'S DONE IT!
Ash Barty wins the 2021 Wimbledon tournament!
What a final against Pliskova

As always, the women's game is a field where everyone is eager and has the talent to take the majors. Exactly what tennis needs, but more importantly, it shows just how much the women's field has surpassed the men's for genuine competition and often edge-of-your-seat energy/drama. The one thing the men's side has going for it is the increasing interest in Djokovic (in the event he wins this Wimbledon title) having only one more major to go in order to make history (and the GOAT list) by winning the Grand Slam. Outside of that, the WTA is soaring above the ATP.
After winning her 2nd Slam and 1st Wimbledon title, Ashleigh Barty becomes:
1. The first Australian woman to win Wimbledon since Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1980 (41 years ago).
2. One of 3 Australian women to win Wimbledon in the Open Era (along with Margaret Court and Evonne Goolagong Cawley).
3. The first Australian player to win Wimbledon since Lleyton Hewitt in 2002 (19 years ago).
4. One of 30 women players in the Open Era to win at least 2 Slam titles.
5. One of 76 women players in the history of tennis to win at least 2 Slam titles.
Also she won her first Wimbledon title 50 years to the day since the last Australian woman champion won her first Wimbledon title (Evonne Goolagong 1971).
No worries here. Maybe we’ll have a few virtual pints together or I’ll get a lucky break and travel somewhere interesting enough to socialize in a public house. God knows I wouldn’t inflict boring Orlando on anyone as a place to gather for nights of elbow bending.I’ve had disputes with you in recent times and I apologize for whatever erratic behavior I may have displayed in those match threads. I’m glad we can still speak civilly after that

Barty should have been an overwhelmingly popular win, but Pliskova's unfortunate slamlessness has made her a fan favourite. Their feelings were raw after the loss.
Is this Barty's first time winning wimby ?? i thought she won this before ?![]()
Junior don't count, only crappy players win juniorsHad to look up to confirm, Ash won the Wimbledon juniors in 2011
Barty herself said that grass is her favorite surface. I believe her, her game suits grass the most. Her backhand is very mediocre so she has to compensate it with slice which is great weapon on grass, she got a big serve (for WTA standards), great forehand which is very compact stroke (important on grass) and lot of variety to her game. I think she can win more Wimbledon titles.Pliskova is somewhat lumbering on grass, whereas Barty seemed quite at home on the surface.
fedr (Boys 1998) and Shapo (Boys 2016) and Fucsovics (Boys 2011) made QFs or betterer. Oh, that’s right…only crappy players get that far.Junior don't count, only crappy players win juniors
