Yeah what do you have to lose
One of the best? How many times did she return Saba's serve back in the field?Sascha is happy. Congrats Karo. One of her best match. Very consistent groundstroke, and great serving.
Why no challenge? Surely she saw it as close.
Was there a hawkeye replay showing it in? I saw the ball was close but it was hidden behind Karo.Well once again the horrible umpire stole one of the most important points of the match.
That’s why there’s an option to challenge and it was stupid of sabalenka to not challengeBecause the horrible chair umpire keeps calling it as out too
Nothing you can do with those serves. "Good serve" that's all you can say. It's the rally that counts. Longer points favor Pliskova. One of the best? How many times did she return Saba's serve back in the field?

I don’t know about Sabalenka’s ink symbolism but Pliskova has one on her leg that every family member (mom, dad, twin sister) shares…a brand so to speak. It’s done in the NZ Maori style.I like both of them but I can’t help but notice they have extremely silly arm tattoos that look like the generic options in video games
Well once again the horrible umpire stole one of the most important points of the match.
Pliskova 32 winners, 17 unforced errors.
Sabalenka 38 winners, 20 unforced errors.
Despite the messy nature of Sabalenka's errors, that match was close all the way.
Ugh that sucks. I did yell "challenge!" at my monitor, but it seems the ump didn't hear meYes....they showed a replay - barely in.....would have been 30-all.

I certainly didn’t see it taking her five years to reach another slam final but she’s kept her ranking up to make for easier paths for her to get deep.Could Ka Pliskova finally be living up to her potential.
That’s from the Sabalenka echo effect.Ugh that sucks. I did yell "challenge!" at my monitor, but it seems the ump didn't hear me
I’m not 100% certain but I don’t remember Mary Jo or Cliff saying she had used up her challenges, something they would have brought up when they showed the Hawkeye result.Did Sabalenka have any challenge left?

Karolina’s arm ink was done at age 15!Sabalenka got that when she was 18 and her mom didn't speak to her for a week. I mean she was 18 so it makes sense it looks horrible.
And could be the first champion from Oz since young double “L” in 2002.
It's very unfortunate that the "out" call wasn't challenged. I think Sabalenka's decision was also affected by the umpire's gesture (the "out" gesture with the index finger - a gesture that's usually used when an umpire is fairly sure that the ball is out. )I’m not 100% certain but I don’t remember Mary Jo or Cliff saying she had used up her challenges, something they would have brought up when they showed the Hawkeye result.

I never could fully understand (or accept) the reasoning(s) behind not using automatic line call and just make the correct call to begin with.
That call could've made a big difference in the outcome. I seemed to remember some non-ATP/WTA tournaments was experimenting with the automatic call (WTT??).
Oh well.
No, they would have replayed the point at 30-15Yes....they showed a replay - barely in.....would have been 30-all.
It was definitely influenced by the chair but she still had the option to use a challenge that doesn’t mean a thing after GSM is called. 100% a mental checkout. It's very unfortunate that the "out" call wasn't challenged. I think her judgment was affected by her nerve/pressure and she stops thinking clearly. It was definitely influenced by the chair but she still had the option and they don’t mean a thing after GSM is called. 100% a mental checkout.
The experiment was a full fledged success at USO’20.It's very unfortunate that the "out" call wasn't challenged. Exactly. A 100% mental checkout.I think her judgment was affected by her nerve/pressure and she stops thinking clearly.
Did Sabalenka have any challenge left?
Also, a few extra seconds to gather herself. She had 2 or 3.
I saw 2 and 3 for both players.
Mind boggling she did not challenge anyways close to the end of the match just anyway. At least to make Pliskova think for a bit.
Also, a few extra seconds to gather herself.
It’s relatively new territory for Sabs; she’ll learn. Great future!
