Measured my specs - 6 pts hl balance. 335 grams with full poly and og. Swingweight of 321. Twistweight of 13.10
Didn’t get to measure it. Less then my 3 stock VC95.what was the sw strung?
Could be related to the strings. What strings and gauge are in your racquets?just realized my yonex sticks are essentially reverse of TW
stock 305 vcore98 317 SW --- TW @ 325
stock 310 vcp 97 322 SW --- TW @ 318
Ah, Tours. My bad.I have my pure strikes 3rd gen tours weighted up to about 360 grams, with 5 grams in the butt and about 5 at 12 in the hoop. No problem with SW or weight.
But I've always liked Yonex. However I am also sick of demoing. Just trying to get some feedback from people who have tried it who might have experience with both.

Not your bad at all, I didn't specify that initially. Or that I weighted them up a bit. But it makes sense the 97H would still have less power. It has more flex, and a slightly thinner beam.Ah, Tours. My bad.
What gauge? Thinner gauge strings are lighter and may explain the difference between your swing weights and TW's swing weights.strings are same across every racquet. VS/PTF
i have two vcores with the same SW and setup
Is the swing weight noticeably higher compared to the HD or is it negligible?Larger sweet spot, RF97A stability and plow without extra weight, doesn't feel mushy or too flexible. I'm also comparing it to:
RF97A v13
Prostaff v13
Ezone 98 tour
Blade v7 18x20
Blade pro 18x20
Prince synergy 98
Phantom 100x 18x20
All great racquets. 97D is on top of the list right now though.

You can feel the higher swing weight and plow through which I like better then the HD. Nothing unmanageable, but also depends on your swing style. I'm using L-Tec 1.25 hybrid with Tourna synthetic armor at 43lbs.Is the swing weight noticeably higher compared to the HD or is it negligible?
May I also ask what your string setup is in your 97D? (Strings, gauge and tension)
Short answer is yes. Nice and solid. Go buy one...LOL!I forgot about this release. Anyone hit with the 97D yet?
I feel like it will need some stiffer string unless someone avoids them due to some arm fatigue.Had a very brief hit with the Vcore 100 and it was a pretty decent experience, I strung it with YPTP 16L @54 LBS. First impressions, really good feel slightly muted but great on drop shots/touch shots. This racket actually has a ton more free power than I was expecting/hoping as I was missing long quite frequently. Might take an adjustment period, but the launch angle was also higher than I was expecting, hopefully I can adjust or dial in the string setup. Definitely promising so far, but the increased beam and throat thickness has really increased the power and access to depth, maybe more than I would like but we will see. I will say that the sweet spot looks and feels absolutely massive so that was a massive upside. Stability was pretty good and definitely an upgrade compared to last version. (I am an 11 UTR and playing lower D1 level)
I just saw the twist weight measurements for some of the 97's, most are in the 14.5-15 range according to TWU. I guess they're really trying to make them stable & comfortable but these are ridiculously high TW's for 97's. People complained about the 2014 RF97 swinging sluggish due to the 14.9 twistweight it so they lowered for the future versions. Will be interesting to see how people like this.
Also I don't like how everyone is trying to make their rackets super flexible.
This is my concern about the 97D. I have the HD which is supposedly 14 twist-weight. The new D is supposed be 15 twist-weight. I don't know what that's going to feel like.I just saw the twist weight measurements for some of the 97's, most are in the 14.5-15 range according to TWU. The HD felt too flexy for me.This is my concern about the 97D. I have the HD which is supposedly 14 twist-weight. The new D is supposed be 15 twist-weight. I don't know what that's going to feel like.
My guess is that since a lot of players are using thin poly's they made the twistweight higher than normal to compensate for that. This is my concern about the 97D. That's a fairly low twistweight, on TWU the twistweight for their batch was ~13.8 surprised you didn't need leadMeasured my specs - 6 pts hl balance. 335 grams with full poly and og. Swingweight of 321. Twistweight of 13.10

It’s actually 14.23, 13.8 was another version. That's a fairly low twistweight, on TWU the twistweight for their batch was ~13.8 surprised you didn't need lead
On the 2018-2019 VCP310s, I found there was a fine line between not having enough lead for adequate stability and having too much where one lost that incredible maneuverability. I was wondering if the new one wouldn’t require lead, because of the slightly thicker beam and (theoretically) higher twistweight.I added lead at 3 and 9 on mine and that was a bad idea from my court time this AM. Frame was sluggish and clunky. I prefer mine stock so far. Specs posted in my prior posting.
I played with the green 97 310, and imo it's exactly that. Just stable enough. I really liked the feel.I'll be curious to see if the 97 (310) is stable enough without needing lead tape. I typically play with the 330 for the stability, but having a lighter alternative in my bag would be nice for those days when I'm not 100% on my game. IMO any player's racquet should be stable enough on its own without needing lead, so hopefully Yonex figured it out this time.

Exactly how I felt as well. I'll probably end up selling my 95 sometime soon.Started playing with my 97 310 over the weekend. It honestly just feels like a more arm-friendly, more stable 2021 Vcore 95.
I needed to weight up my 95 but all I did was put an overgrip on this one and its good to go!
Unfortunately, both the new 95 and this new 97 aren't as spin friendly as the previous model Vcore Pro HD...
Huh, to me they play different. the Vcore 95 is much more direct and the Vcore Pro is more launchy and seems really good for grinding, while the Vc95 is an attacking frame. Ill see if that changes over time.
Say what? I haven't played the new 97 but the current VCore 95 is definitely more spin-friendly than the previous 97HD.Started playing with my 97 310 over the weekend. It honestly just feels like a more arm-friendly, more stable 2021 Vcore 95.

Not even TW knows why. They commented on the review that they didn’t know why but that was the retail price Yonex listed them at.Anybody know why the 97D is $10 more expensive than the other VCORE Pro's? All the 97's are from the same mold so that just seems odd.

Doubtful. These days the 18x20s are made to appease the old farts who won't let them go. I do wish there were more 16x20 offerings. It's probably the best seller.

It was the only sold out of the VCPHD where I live. On the other hand maybe they manufacture less HD than the rest and that could increment costs perhaps?Doubtful. These days the 18x20s are made to appease the old farts who won't let them go. I do wish there were more 16x20 offerings.
I wish the 97D WAS 16x20.![]()
16x20 is the most slept-on pattern in the industry. It's practical perfection yet so few frames have it.It was the only sold out of the VCPHD where I live. On the other hand maybe they manufacture less HD than the rest and that could increment costs perhaps?
And yeah 16x20 would be great across all the Yonex lines it would kind of feel like their (Yonex ) pattern.
Try it without the dampener. You might be surprised.I currently play with 2018 and 2019 VCP 97 330’s.
I have big, flattish strokes and when I originally demoed the 2018 VCP 330 & 310, I had a strong preference for the 330. I might have been able to weight the 310 into something that felt good for me, but the 330 just felt great with no customization at all, so I’ve been playing with that racquet for about 3 years now.
Lately though, I’ve been experimenting with my forehand mechanics a bit, moving in the direction of a bit more whip and for the first time the weight of the 330 is starting to feel like a thing. So from what I’ve been reading and hearing about the 2021 VCP 97 model, I’m curious whether it will play with more stability than the 2018 VCP 97 310, but come around a bit quicker than my 330’s.
Demos (2021 VCP 97 & 97H) arrived yesterday and I strung them up with my current preferred hybrid of solinco confidential 18 mains and solinco hyper-g soft 18 crosses, both at 50 lbs.

I don’t have access to a swing weight machine so I did the manual swingweight measurements from TW.

All these measurements are strung and with an overgrip and sampras dampener (and the 2018 #2 racquet is my experimental one and is currently strung differently from all the others [full bed toroline wasabi green]).
The unstrung static weight for the 97 was 309.4g and the 97H was 328g (I forgot to measure the unstrung balance).
I’ll get a chance to hit with the demos this afternoon.
Dang, the SW in the 97 H is massive. Is that stock, or did you add weight to it? Same question for the 2021 310 version, which you’ve listed at 329-stock or with mods?I currently play with 2018 and 2019 VCP 97 330’s.

I was the same way. I just couldn't play without the dampener. Then I tried it with my VCores and the feel was so much better that I didn't notice it was gone. Now, I can't go back to using one in those frames.LOL, I regularly do try without the dampener when it flies out and I always AM surprised, but not in a good way...
Seriously though, I’ve never tried playing without a dampener long enough to get used to it. Maybe someday, but in the middle of demoing new frames I don’t want to change anything other than the frames.
