Wow, thanks for the linkAt least on paper the TW and power level on the 97D are significantly higher. But I'd also like to hear some comparisons from real life playtests.

It’s not a review it is bashing a racquet. BTW he says he is sponsored by Head soHas anyone watched.... or should I say "read" this review yet? What a horrible review. It's like the guy decided that he was going to bash this frame before he even gave it a test run or something. Watching his strokes... I can tell he is a very low level player. So I take what he had to say with a grain of salt. I think just about everyone in this thread has either liked or loved this racket. So what's this guys deal?
There's no way that dude is sponsored by anyone. He was terrible. I'd blow the guy off the court 0 and 0.It’s not a review it is bashing a racquet. BTW he says he is sponsored by Head so
Anyway I’ve never seen anyone volley up in the sky being one meter from the net. No footwork or whatever.

So both of those will be about 315g unstrung without the plastic cover on the handle?TW finished the racquet matching part of my VCP97 310 order. Here are the details of both racquets.
#1: W: 317.02g Bal: 10.5 HL SW: 292
#2: W: 316.87g Bal: 10.5 HL SW: 292
I am pretty happy about those numbers as I will be much closer to 320 swing weight. Hopefully, I should have these in my hands by Wednesday morning at the latest.

His review is pretty spot on. I see people giving yonex a free pass because they have the best quality control which is a true. But in terms of playability yonex definitely messed up their 2017 VCP blue with the more muted green version of 2019….. and now it seems they continue this ultra muted play of style and offering a little more free power. Even 2021 v core 98 is ultra muted I couldn’t even construct rallies….solid stick but zero feedback. I will keep telling it again and again…. the last yonex stick that offered great connection and feel was the legendary DR line….. since then VDM has taken over and i am out of this company. I still wear mainly yonex clothes which are top notch quality…remember SV 98 ? Another great feeling yonex of the past.
Its really not that muted with a good poly and no dampener. Just a nice soft feel that comes alive when you crack the ball. I can see how some people wouldnt jive with it, but if you are a big hitter who wants some comfort, its awesome.
I think so. I don't usually use an overgrip on my racquets. My go to string is Hyper-G 18 and not sure if it will add 30 to the SW of the racquet. I will play stock for rest of the season and will adjust as necessary for winter. So both of those will be about 315g unstrung without the plastic cover on the handle?
I wish I looked at things with a more positive note like you do. I guess it's really not a big deal. I could just cut the strings out right? It's just the whole point I guess... idk.On a positive note, the grommets are pre settled! So your first string job will feel absolutely perfect and not loose tension in certain areas as the grommets compress and settle as they do on the first stringing. You are actually pretty lucky.
Not to mention, you should be thankful as the you can’t even buy this racquet yet in my country..... So I’m jealous!
Did they charge you for the string?UPS just dropped off my racket. I ordered an unstrung racket. Opened up the box and the damn thing has been strung with what looks to me as Tour Bite. There's a sticker on the handle with someone's initials and the tension as 52 lbs. First off all... I ordered an unstrung racket. Second of all... who in the hell would string Tour Bite at 52 lbs.!!!! Looks like I'll be making a phone call first thing Monday morning.
noDid they charge you for the string?
How strange. Anyway, why not try it out once, see if you are surprised by it or if it confirms that it’s too tight for you. Seems all good. If it sucks, then cut it out and restring it with your preferred string.

Hi,Demoed the 310. Didn't like it. Lacked feel, balance felt poor, off centered hits were very jarring.
Sounds like your complaining about the feel and stability. Both can easily be modified with a good poly at the right tension and some lead. Every frame needs a little modification. No exceptionsDemoed the 310. Didn't like it. Lacked feel, balance felt poor, off centered hits were very jarring. Usually the tradeoff for these thinner beam sticks is you get better feel and stability at cost of power and sweetspot size and this frame lacked both. I really wanted to like it because the paintjob is nice but I can't justify actually buying this thing because it'll just end up in my "lightly used frames that look cool" impulse purchase pile.
What would be a good poly for this racquet? Or rephrasing, what polys have a direct feedback/not muted/or mushy? Does Yonex have such a Poly? I’ve been considering asking for Head Lynx Tour when I order my 97D’s.Sounds like your complaining about the feel and stability. My go to string for the last 15 years has been Alu Power. But I think Head Lynx Tour would also work pretty well. Just keep the tension in the mid to upper 40s.What would be a good poly for this racquet? Or rephrasing, what polys have a direct feedback/not muted/or mushy? Does Yonex have such a Poly? at what tension and what gauge? Also, is it silver Lynx Tour that you are using?Lynx Tour is really impressing me a lot. I love it in the VC95. Imagine it must feel amazing in the VCP97.

The new Yonex Vcore Pro 97 with ProTour 17L
310 unstrung / 31.10
326 strung / 32.00
332 og / 31.60
Will check SW Tuesday
Looking very nice! Did you hit with it yet?
That is really nice to hear. I got VCP97 too for more stability at net. I am 3.5 doubles player with 2HBH as well. Mine will arrive on Wednesday with Hyper-G 18 at 51lbs. Looking forward to playing with it coming weekend.yes three matches
easy to pick up and gel with.
fav aspect is my 2hbh, may be the best stick for 2hbh that I've ever touched, and I've hit them all trust me.
it's a great offering. I give it a solid 9/10.
heavy hitting 4.0 baseliner in my mid 40s
52/51 soft co poly. I may go lower.
Personally on the 1HBH I added some lead to 9 and 3 on my VCP HD to increase the stability a bit so I can swing with more confidence. The new specs show a bit more twistweight so it should play with a bit more stability with the one handed, so just swing with full confidence to get the extra swingweight going and it should play well... then again I haven't had a chance to play with the new ones yet.I hope is a good one also for 1HBH
This is the VCP97 310, correct? How is the feel for you in terms of the often described, but somewhat debated, "too muted" feel some say it has?yes three matches

As a gravity and clash owner, this is good news. Waiting on several demos.yes correct.
I probably have a lot of muted frames so maybe I’m not the best one to answer. I have a blade V8. A gravity tour. Clash 98. Vcore 95 current.
See a trend here? Nothing too stiff. All somewhat muted I suppose. I’m trying to protect my arm. I play a lot. I know right away when I don’t hit the ball correctly with this frame. approach shots and at the net and 2nd serves…. all feel wonderful.
How do you compare the gravity tour and blade v8?yes correct.

Played 3 sets with this frame tonight and I really like it. I still have no idea if it can surpass the VC95, but it definitely wins in the softness department.
I really love shaping forehands with this frame. I find that I can put very heavy spin on the ball without needing to brush too much and I get that Yonex line drive trajectory, it is just a bit higher than the 16x20 patterns.
Still need to find the level of touch with this frame that I have with the VC95, but I will put in Lynx Tour next so I can compare the 2 frames with the same string setups. This is one of those racquets that even if it is not my main frame, I still want to have it because I know I will miss that feel if I sell it. Plus I see how it could be my main frame as well. There is still a chance for that.
Regardless, with the weather changing it is nice to have a soft racquet in the bag.
Was wondering what gut/poly hybrid might be like in the 97. Look forward to your thoughts.I will be picking up both my Vcore Pro 310 and VC95 from the stringer tomorrow. Had them strung the same to get a better idea of their differences. ( 1.25 lux gut mains & 1.20 max power crosses)
Before I was gravitating more towards using my 310 instead of my 95. They were strung differently though. Hopefully this will give me a better idea of which will be my go-to stick.
Will report in after some court days.
