2021 Yonex VCore Pro Official Thread

In terms of launch angle It’s hard to tell until the 2021 comes out. The emerald green version even though it’s 18x20 I didn’t have any issue with the launch angle being too low. It had good spin.

If I wanted to test a Yonex racquet against a blade v7 98 18x20 which would you recommend? Waiting for a GP pro and vcore pro 97 to come in to demo.

I don't think any Yonex would be comparable. The blade is more HH than any yonex, and also packs a low static weight and a higher SW. There is only one 18x20 yy option, the vcore pro HD, that is heavier and more HL, providing a more classic feel and performance.

My blades are about 340 grams 5pts HL. I have weight in handle. I'm ok with testing a 16x19. I love my blade but like testing stuff between tournaments.

I’ve been told it might be a while before the demos are available (sigh). I’m still thinking about a blind purchase, but I’ve already done that (twice) this summer.

As we await shipment, which should be happening soon I saw another site in the middle of the west has the SW listed at 325 for the VCP310.

Seems like there's a good deal of variance on the swingweight, especially on the 310. Honestly, I felt there was a decent amount of variance on the earlier VCP models also. My 2018 (blue) one was around 315 stock, and my 2019 (green) one was around 325 stock.

TW still says that their listed swingweight is based on only 2 samples. It will be interesting to see if the number changes after they measure the normal amount.

Yeah it's interesting. It looks like TE is already shipping theirs out, so I am curious if TW is able to match that level of speed and service. I remember when TW was killing everyone with shipping out frames and being the first to get them, but maybe things are changing a little.

I was able to get pick of the three (97, 97H, 100)--my shop did not have the D.

So far I've only had a brief session with it. The demo is strung with Rexis Speed at 57 lbs. I never hit with the previous version, but the new VCP310 felt soft and muted which is one reason it reminded me of the Blade. It's absolutely easy on the arm for you guys with a history of arm pain.

This is great to hear. It's on my demo list. Chime back in when you try out the 100.

Good news about VCP310, somehow expected. Would be nice a comparison in power levels, if not with the previous version (ideally) maybe with the Blade?
Thanks!

Looks like the twistweights may be up for the new VCore Pros - I may be wrong there, they have the 2018 310 listed at 13.49 and the new 310 is 13.81 If that is the case it should have a little more built in stability than the prior ones.
Interesting. And while I know so many of these measures are a a matter of preference. Do you think there is an “Optimal Twistweight”, or if higher is better, what is too high..

good question. I would think with the softer frame a slightly higher twistweight would be a good thing.

I will get mine tomorrow. I will also be able to measure the SW/TW/Weight and balance so I can finally provide more specific feedback on my racquets when I review them.

Super excited about this one. I feel like even if it can not beat out the VC95, it will should be able to replace my Blade V7s as my soft frames. I have moved away from 18x20 and prefer a balance over 5 pts hl (better on my shoulder) so I not really able to swap in the Blades anymore if I wanted to.

Dibs if you decide to sell!!!

I moved on from the blades for the same reason. I really prefer 6pts HL or more and to get the blade there I had to add so much weight and I don’t like leather-wish I did.

Im into the low vibration. I will go no dampener and use my preferred crisp polys - S7t, Tour Bite, maybe head lynx pro.

I think the feel should be awesome with this setup. If not, I will be disappointed.

Just ordered a new 97H! Used customization service this time to get one at the lower swingweight range. If I end up liking this version I'll get a couple more.

What do you guys think would be a good string setup? My usual go to on the 330 is gut mains and Max Power crosses. I do have a pack of Poly Tour Rev I've been meaning to try though.

Id start with the usual go to setup just as a gauge. I do think Max power/ALU/Silver 7 tour/Tour Bite will all be great fits in a frame like this. Stiffer, crisp setups should be a great compliment to it.

A stiff poly might be exactly what this frame needs, so I'm interested to hear your thoughts. The Rexis Speed in my demo is probably too soft for an already soft frame.

I still don't see the new VCPs on TW Europe. Any clues when will be available here?
Thanks!
I believe my local shop said VCPs release September 10 outside of the US.
