Ok,
Here we go.
This is the pair's 10th meeting, 5th in the final (Djokovic leads 4-0), 5th on hard court (equal at 2-2).
While their h2h is 2-2 on HC, Djokovic is on a 6 match winning streak against the Greek; namely 2019 Paris masters semi (61 62), 2020 Dubai final (63 64), 2020 RG SF (63 62 57 46 61), 2021 Rome masters quarters (46 75 75), 2021 RG F (67 26 63 62 64), 2022 Rome masters final (60 76).
Tsistsipas's last win vs the Serb was 3 years ago in Shanghai 2019 QF (36 75 63).
In the 4 finals before, Tsitsipas has failed to take a set in 3 of them, Madrid 2019, Dubai 2020 & Rome 2022, and also failed to break Novak even once in the Dubai & Madrid finals, and failed to even have a break point in the Madrid final.
How do you think the match goes?
Djokovic is favourite on paper but Tsitsipas is showing some signs of getting back to good form.
Edit (after the match was over) :- It was yet another display of utter domination by Novak Djokovic, who destroyed Stefanos Tsitsipas 63 64, without dropping his serve even once or even facing a single break point; remarkably, only one service game of the Serb went to deuce & that was the last game of the match. This was 3rd such final between the pair when Djokovic won by this scoreline without being broken & 2nd such final when he didn't even face a break point.
Remarkable dominance of the Greek youngster by the veteran Djokovic after what looked like a very neck-to-neck tight matchup after the remarkable victory of Tsitsipas over the Serb at Shanghai 2019, one of the best masters event for Novak.
